we feed our chickens vibrant life laying crumbles
she does however have one eye shut and there was a thick goop running out of it.
You have been given good suggestions about nutrition and vitamins.we feed our chicks that are 6 weeks and under chick feed, we currently have 3 silkie chicks. after they are done on chick feed they are switched to laying crumbles. is there any chicken food i can feed in between chick food and layer feed? she has probably been eating layer feed for almost 2 months now.
I do think that she needs some vitamin E, B1 and B2.
I'll address the other issue you brought up - the eye with thick goop running out of it.
Flush the eye with saline, press out the goop and apply an eye ointment like Terramycin.
She may have more than one thing going on - does she have any mucous coming from the nostrils, lesions or canker inside the beak? Crop emptying?
