Easter Egger.....

Ok, so our little "rare" chick that we swore was a boy.....laid a tiny little egg today! I was SHOCKED! it cracked me up it was so small compared to our Reds eggs! I swear it was a darn rooster!

Here is a pic of the bird, not a great pic since the poor thing is very muddy! could not get it inside when it started raining and I swear it was playing in the mud... I just happened to get it to stand still long enough to snap a pic when it finally went in....Now we are almost sure it is a male because it crowed the other day.

The other picture is the egg that we found and it is right beside one of the eggs from our Reds....there is no way that little tiny egg came from one of our Reds so now we are very confused!

I agree, that bird is a rooster. Roos hang out in nest boxes sometimes. IF that bird were female, by the comb it would likely lay green eggs. But it's not female by any stretch. Someone else just had a glitch in their system---ie fart egg.
