Here is her first egg (small though it may be):

And here is a photo of one of her legs. You can't see it in the photo but there is a slight green tinge to her legs:

She came from Mt. Healthy Hatchery via a local feed store.

Hope this is the type of information you wanted.

Very interesting! I love all the pics of everyones beautiful birds and eggs. I have 5 Araucana that maybe Ameraucanas. I ordered them from Cackle Hatchery. They are 22 wks old and not laying yet, but suspect a few to start soon. I will take pic and post soon.

I still can't get good pics of the chickens, they all come out blurry or dark. This one of Morgaine has too much flash--she looks paler than she really is. She is actually nearly black all over with just a hint of gold on her chest. Also, her feet are not that green, only the pads on the bottom really, if that. Her feet are more gray-black.

And this is her green egg:

This one of Morgause is much better:

She's sort of blue/red with greenish-grey legs, and her eggs are closer to blue than Morgaine's.
Here are a bunch of EE, Buttercup and Cochin eggs in a basket. There are three brown Cochin eggs, three white Buttercup eggs, and three of Morgaine's green eggs. Morgause laid the blue one in the back.

No good baby pics, unfortunately. Morgaine used to hide under the other chicks, so in all the pics of her as a baby you can only see a little chipmunky butt sticking out of a pile of fluff.

Nice, thanks for the pics and info!!
Again, you answerd all the right questions, thanks.
Interesting to see the different color brown eggs from your cochins too.

I havn't seen a glareing trend yet on egg color, but we still need more input.
Sample size is getting better , but not quite there yet.
If anyone has posted in the past but forgot to post any specific info about Leg color, beard, muff, that may not be clearly seen in a photo, or if simply not stated in your post, please feel free to edit and add to your post.

Still need some people who get pink eggs from their EE's to post.

i agree barg...im watching this with some interest to see if we can figure the puzzle out...i cant see any trend either. My two girls who i think are ameraucanas ( per the breeder) have not laid yet but the rooster who is from the same hatch is fully feathered out and crowing up a storm so im figuring they have to be around 5months old or more..does anyone know if their combs also change before they lay? I will certainly post pics of them as soon as they lay regardless of the colour of the egg.

WOOHOO I get to finally post here. One of my EE's, Purdy, laid her first egg yesterday. I don't have a picture of her legs but they're green. She's also the only EE I have that does not have a beard. She does't really have much of a comb at all. Her face did just recently turn red though.
