Easter Eggers ~ Americana ~What Factors =What Colored Eggs~ Post Yours

I can get a better picture than this tomorrow. I have 8 stackable storage thingys that I bought from the Dollar General. I stacked them 4 tall so I have 2 stacks. I put bungee (spelling) cords on each side to keep them from coming apart and DH screwed the the tops to the wall. They work great. I put straw in them but I'm noticing that the girls scratch a hole in the middle of the straw and lay on the plastic.

thanks!!

Curious, why do you want to know the ear lobe color?
I've never really looked at my chickens ear lobes.

because earlobes also have to do with egg color. red:brown or any color - usually. my banty cochin got her red earlobes after she started laying. white - white eggs. but someone on the site told me they had an EE with white earlobes who laid blue eggs. my EE has started squating and her comb has grown, but she has white earlobes.

No I didn't, I must be slipping.
Wow look at that comb!!!!
That is not a normal Pea comb at that age is it?
The eggs look very nice, I like fussy's but the brown ones are a nice color too

I really do need to start a brown egg thread.

I'm thinking about putting together a little scrap book sorta thing with my chickens and anyone else who wants to add their chicken pics as well, would be kinda the evolution of my Esther Winnie thread and this thread idea, but indexed.
I'm still formulating the idea but if anyones interested email me.

Oh and btw, Are the legs green, anyone who hasn't stated their chickens leg color for the record, please do so

Southernchick: Just curious, do your girls use the lower nest boxes or do they all use the same one that's at the top?

I THINK they are slate, but its one of those colors that could go either way.

And yes, I dont know WHAT kind of comb she has goin, it looked like Southerns for the longest time, then just over 3 weeks sprouted like THAT! Maybe she is still a roo wanna be, altho she never crowed again after that one time. But I do think she saw Red and all the angst she went thru, and decided she really wanted nothing to do with it.

Oh yea and earlobe color has a lot to do with it on most chickens I believe, but EE's, Ameraucana, etc are the exception I do believe. I dont think anyone has recorded it tho, so we might figure something out. Fussy has white earlobes.

They will use any of the 4 stacked in the corner. No one has used the other four against the wall. And Boo was on the top one when I took the picture but she moved to a different one to lay the egg. I've never found an egg up there.

As far as earlobes go all 5 of my EE's have red AND white together. Looks strange.
