Easter Eggers ~ Americana ~What Factors =What Colored Eggs~ Post Yours

Our EE is from a hatchery. Juniper lays lighter what I call olive green eggs now although her first couple were a lighter bluish-green. Not sure why the eggs changed colors but she did just begin laying in the last couple of weeks. I will post a pic as soon as I can get her to stay still enough when I have the camera out! LOL

Sounds like she carries the blue egg gene and the white egg gene. Bred to a brown egg layer, about 50% of the offspring would lay green (the pea combed ones) and 50% would lay pale brown.

Hi! I have 4 EE pullets. Hard to tell, but all the eggs on the left are that olive-y green, while on the right, all but one (3rd down from the top) are a more blue green. The 3rd down on Right is a pale blue! I tried to find a pic of my girls' legs, but they were being shy. I did find a video that captured all my pullet legs. Suffice it to say, the format wasn't supported here, so it'll have to wait until I can fix that. My gals have greenish to greenish-slate toned legs. Of the 4, it seems only one has not yet started to lay. Considering the season, I'm not gonna worry too much yet.

Uh oh, this is what Pecker looks like, she hasn't started laying yet, but I thought she was a Cochin! No wonder "the Americana's" are laying brown eggs...
