I recall reading somewhere that one of the hatcheries has more blue egg layers rather than green layers. A friend of mine was wondering, and I can not recall which hatchery it was.

Another question .... what do your Easter Eggers look like? I realize different hatcheries offer quite differing types. If you have a picture, could you please post it.

Thanks,
Kathy

I had an EE from Cackle that laid eggs bluer than my Ameraucanas....

Bluer or richer in color?

I believe Cackle specifically breeds more for blue/green colors. Their EE's are the typical colors like every other hatchery though. (BBR, blue-BBR, occasional white, occasional silver duckwing, etc)

No pictures though, sorry.

Mine, McMurray, lays very deep blue. Not green by any means. I havent heard of any in particular so

She's very pretty IMO.

My order from meyer was for 25, and I got 2 whites, and apricot/white and all the rest variations of the typical partridge, quail or whatever it is called some lighter, some darker. The only boy is white/black w/ red across wings and in hackle feathers. All lay blue, blue/green eggs only a few that are greener then blue/green.

I'm not very good at posting pics, however I succeeded a few wks ago and will try again. WOW!I succeeded!
Here's eggs from Cackle'ss EE's at the beginning of their cycle.Overlook the browns-different breed.

Note:this one will hardly let me open the gate. She is quite a pest and very curious. In all they are friendly.BTW I requested at least 1-2 blues if at all possible.I think to be a big hatchery they did well.

I do have one that lays a definite green egg. That egg for some reason has the very best flavor.LOL

Eggciting to know Meyer's has pretty good egg color from its EE. I have a turkey order in-- I'm temped, very tempted, to add EE to the order!
