Easter Eggers

The beautiful rooster in the post above (post 50) needs a new home. If anyone is interested please PM or email me. He was born September of 2011...and today, he is a first-time daddy to 6 ee chicks!! :O)

Rox has his new home..... so he isn't looking for a home...and will have more chicks some day in the future.

If I crossed a Barred Rock roo with black Ameraucana hens would I get sex-linked chicks? Would the female chicks be barred and the males black?

Hi Penny!
The chicks would all be barred from that cross.
If you did it the other way, Barred Rock hens and black Ameraucana roo, then it would make sex-linked chicks --- barred males and non-barred females.

Thanks, Lisa. Here is the gorgeous heritage barred rock and don't know what to do with him. He is huge at 15 weeks. He's larger than all my other chickens, except the FBCM, but I think he still has lots of growing to do. Any ideas?

He has no girls. He came as a freebie with some GNHs chicks I got.

My goodness, those are some of the most awesome roosters I've ever seen!! And where did you get them?

He is a handsome guy!!

What a coincidence! I could use a PR guy to cross back to some blue barred PR girls.

Lol....you'll have to convince Jon....he's become pretty fond of this guy. He's really gentle. The kids named him Pedro.
I'll give you first dibs if we decide to let him go. :)

I can see why!
Maybe he and the blue barred PR girls could have a 'play date', hahaha.
