Easter eggs for the adults

Thanks so much for sharing this! These will make a sweet little basket for my secret prayers sister at church.

I gotta say though, blowing those eggs almost gave me varicose veins on my cheeks! And I still feel like i have some egg on my face. Mine are boiling now so we shall see. I don't think I had near enough onion skin....

If you break the yolk with a long needle it makes it a little easier to blow out the contents. I have blown sooooo many eggs over the years for my mom's craft projects. When I was younger it was always a contest to see who could blow the egg through the smallest holes. I know I must have turned blue a few times.

They look great!

Couldnt you just do this with hard boiled eggs? Why do they have to be blown?

Mine turned out beautifully! I'll gift my office mate with the three I did tonight, tomorrow and then do another batch for my secret prayer sister.

Also, I was concerned about not having enough onion skins. I really didn't, just peeled from one large onion, so I added a teabag to the boil and they turned out beautifully!

I did it because I was going to make small ornaments with ribbons and a toothpick so they had to be empty. Otherwise I'm sure it's fine they just might have an onion taste if someone wants to eat one

we did these years ago and using craft paints & permanent fine line markers drew on the stem lines and added some little details....sold really well at the craft fait at Xmas on our "Farmers" ornament tree we displayed them on.

The eggs are beautiful! Red Cabbage when boiled makes a nice deep purple color. I don't know how they would smell after, but I would think if a little white vinegar was added to the dye it might be okay.
