Easter time SAVE A CHICK rally

Ok I am on it! I have started printing out the pamplets and I am going to take them to the 2 feed stores we have in the area! I hate the thought of giving the chicks, bunnies, puppies...for gifts? Gees people just need to think before.. But like I said I am on the band wagon.... LETS DO IT!

Great to hear! Thanks for posting! I can't wait to see people come to the forum saying, "I saw a really cool pamphlet at the feed store!"

I'm going to print up some of the smaller fliers (4 to a page) for my feed store and see it they will let me put up a pamphlet holder right next to the chicks and/or by the register.

I save easter chicks.... I buy up boxes of them after easter.

And they sadly never seem to live as well as my other chicks.... its really sad. But at least they get some time of love and spoiling.

Our local feed store won;t carry easter chicks.

I always save a chick...by buying some.

I've already bought way too many from TSC.

I've also put ads in the paper offering to rehome or help rehome any that people find they cannot take care of after Easter.

I am going to place this campaign on my Delaware Club page. I have written a small article on there about it and I think that people do need to be more responsible. I placed a feed store story on here before about the two college kids and I was going to give them my contact info after they were getting 2 Silkies for Easter. (Yes, I bought two ducklings that day but their brooder was old and nasty and I felt bad, especially when one died less than 24 hrs later)

we had 7 "easter" chicks that where left in a carport with no food or water. friend knew we like chicks so he call and now they're living in my bathroom

they're whose dyed one

My family are kind of dipping into the whole 'we see a chick in need and we look after it' thing, we have 4 golden pheasant chicks, 5 silver laced wyandotte eggs incubating and some more eggs coming but we have already had some offers from friends to look after unwanted chicks/eggs/cockerels/hens/ducklings.

We are heading down the slippery slope!

I think there should be a minimum age to buy chicks for the owner (say 10 or something) that way little 5 year olds wont get the chicks so they wont be badly cared for

As to the save a chick rally...you should also include duckings/goslings. there is nothing out there to save them! i work on a farm, and every year we get calls from people trying to unload them on us because they are no longer "cute"!
