Easter-to-Mother's Day hatch-along?

My hatch didn’t go very well. I had to go out of town for a week and my husband didn’t quite take as good care of the incubating babies as I would have. I also had some under a broody and hubby threw them away while she was out eating
Out of forty eggs, I have five that hatched four days ago and five that are due to hatch today. I blame the incubator. I’m so mad.

Just a quick update because we're not totally done and I'm exhausted!

Of the 19 that made it into lockdown, 13 have hatched, 5 more have pipped or are zipping, and 1 was DIS -- a malposition where it tried to pip out the side, couldn't do it, and must have drowned. Yolk was totally absorbed, so it was ready to go. I had two others try to do the same, but made enough of a dent in the shell that I could see it and make an air hole, but there was no crack in the shell for this one to clue me in. :(

My first two pippers (the salmon fav and the malpo Polish) were the 4th and 7th chicks to make it out, respectively.

Thus far, I'm SO MUCH happier with the Incuview than the farm innovations I used to use. My hatch rate, even with shipped eggs, is just worlds better.

I'll post some pics when I can!
Farm innovators is what I used for this hatch and it was bad. Temp fluctuations were apparently awful. I ended up with five of twenty five that showed development at day seven. I’ve learned to NEVER go out of town to help family and leave hubby with the responsibility!

That's what I used last time, and it was terrible. Couldn't keep a steady temp (spikes in the middle of the night!), couldn't get humidity down, hot pockets all over the place. Definitely recommend the Incuview if you're on the market for a new one . . .

I use a cheaper Chinese incubator and a homemade fish tank incubator which serves as my Hatcher.

I hope to one day get a nicer non-Chinese one. The hatch Right 360 is on my wish list though. Or maybe a Brisea that has an auto-humidity adjustment.

My MIA eggs are on day 19.5 this morning. Lots of movement when I candled last night, but no internal pips yet. I'm on pins and needles. I'm really pulling for these two! It's going to be a LOOOONG day at work for me today, worrying about whether they're making progress.

That is exactly what happened with mine. I was so upset. I’ll check out the incuview. I have a nurture right 360 that is really great, but it only holds 22 eggs. I thought that would be plenty but then chicken math happened!

The 360 has worked beautifully for me through three hatches. I highly recommend it! I only purchased the farm innovators bc it held more eggs.
