I love the Eastern Shore. My husband thinks I'm crazy but winter was always my favorite time to visit. Hunting, rockfish season, no bugs...far fewer tourists like myself. I even consider the water temp decent, in a wetsuit. My inlaws have a trailer near Jamesville, Va. I even like watching during a big Nor'easter. Now the kids are in school and we can't go during the school year

Ok fellow ES peeps! Where do you buy local chicks around here? I was wondering if anyone had a favorite feed store to get chicks (and maybe even ducklings ... boy am I hooked!) from in the spring. And feed for that matter! I've been getting SS from my local feed store, and now I'm really starting to wish they carried other brands.

On the off chance that any of you Shore people are still suscribed to this post, I was wondering if anyone sold fertile hatching eggs. I'm 90% sure my silkie hen just went broody on me. I was thinking it might be fun to let her hatch some eggs. My girls aren't seperated from my 3 roosters, so I have plenty of mix eggs I could give her. But I'm a real sucker for purebreds. Let me know if anyone can help me out!

PS - I know I can get hatching eggs shipped, but I would rather go local
