I'll keep it in mind....but I did get 6 gold laced wyandottes (8 weekers) from him a while back and was very impressed with them. I have however heard of some problems with day to week olds from some people in the past. The trick is to know the birds and really give them the once over before taking them. I spent an hour or more looking over the birds with him in Knox before I was back on the road with the pullets. I also looked at the other younger ones he had for other people and they all seemed to be clean and healthy. I could have just caught him on a good day?? Can only speak to my experience.

so, since Nella is obviously ignoring the part of our conversation about the 21 week speckled sussex rooster I need rid of

LOL

I wanted to officially put it out there. Someone please someone take him

He is great, but my Gold laced roo just wont tolerate him any longer. I just cant bear to put him in the freezer...at least not my freezer.

Ha ha, not ignoring....busy building cages! I actually have a single speckled sussex girl. Got her from TennesseeCkn on here cause she has a bad eye, which is my favorite...love my rejects

I had a group of speckled sussex....sold them to someone recently (prior to getting the bad eyed girl). Definitely don't need another rooster! Plus, me being NPIP now, I can't take anything not NPIP......

I am sure some of his stock does fine . I had given them a good look as well but the loss was more than I cared to deal with. There was someone on here a 2-3 weeks ago that had visited his farm , hatchery not good reveiws as well. But I was only speaking from my experience. Not badmouthing just not in my opinion the best to deal with. Don't mean to offend.

Thanks for the reply. I did email them. To see if they had any 5 month old ones. He said he was out. I think the next time they will be in Knox. Will be a saturday and I will be at our local farmers and craft market. I am starting to think I might just have to get chicks. I didn't want to wait on white eggs.

Ladyride, what are you looking for? White layers or specifically brown leghorns? How about really light brown egg layers? LOL

LOL, not at all. This is what it is all about. Sharing stories like this can only benefit the group as a whole. I welcome all stories like that and if there is a trend going on and I was in the minority, then I def. do not want to deal with them. Dont ever think you will offend me LOL
