ok, they are back on there. Cant find the really gross ones of giving her the anatomy lesson though. I triple dipped one of the feet in urethane and she kept it for a couple months before her brother threw it away saying it was gross...lol
PS. So your going to get your daughter to off them for you and you do the rest, LOL

Thanks! I'll show her tomorrow afternoon... she probably wouldn't be too happy if I woke her up to look at them.

I hadn't thought about letting her do the hard part. Hmmmm...

I asked DH if he would help and he said, "SURE... right until I pass out..." and he's not kidding. The sight of blood makes him crumple like a tissue. He's all manly and all, but absolutely no help if someone gets hurt or something needs killing. He even passed out once when someone described an injury to him.

Thank you to all of you that offered to help. I really want to be like you guys when I grow up.

pers. I would much rather be east of Knoxville and enjoy my area immensely. I lived in Beaverton for a few months in 1991. I always said if I made one last move it was going to be outside Portland or the area I am in now

There are a few people on here that are closer to Chattanooga that will be able to tell you more. (Stacy??)
Welcome to our little corner.

Yep, I'm fairly close to Chattanooga. I will say what cyber said about it is fairly accurate. Chattanooga is more expensive by comparison than Knoxville. If suburbia is what you want Xtina... then forget chickens in Chattanooga. They have a ordinance against cars wheels being in grass. You might be used to that sort of thing in other parts of the country, but in TN... that is NUTS! With that said, if you prefer HOAs and local laws and ordinances to keep your neighborhood what you would like it to be... maybe Tennessee isn't a good fit. Outside of city limits the attitude is... no matter what the law says, if you aren't hurting anyone, pretty much anything goes.

It's hard for transplants to adjust sometimes. I say that as someone born in DC... I see the big cultural differences that alot of people don't think of. I have also seen people not be able to adapt well at all. Nothing is truely regulated... for example, my county has no building codes. At first you think, "Great, no inspections while I build" but what you also have to accept (and trust me I love not having "the man" telling me what nail to use) is that if you neighbor takes trash and scrap and puts a tarp roof shed ON the property line here... you shut up and live with it or move. Those are your choices.

As for TVA... I don't know what qualifications your husband has but jobs are very hard to comeby here. They project the true unemployment to be something around 18% - the unemployment that the media reports is just people who draw unemployment benefits. That said, and I mean this as nicely and honestly as I can, there may be a person or a few people who will discriminate against you for 1) being from a liberal minded state like Oregon 2) moving here and buying land they can't afford and bragging on how cheap it was 3) getting a job that they have been either trying to get, hoping to get promoted to, or trying to get their buddy or cousin in.

Just somethings to think about. People are very conservative here, more so than the Atlanta area....

Daphne, just take a good sharp knife to it's throat and breathe. Imagine the chickens in the processing plants going through the scalder alive because they missed the blades on the conveyor belt. Say, "Thank you for what you give" and run the knife firmly from left to right. Because if you don't, you'll be eatting the chicken that was abused from birth to death on a factory farm.

You can do it!!

Ugh. I have 3 roosters who need to be eaten. The 3 boys from the show. My rooster lady said she was full up......le sigh. They are starting to annoy the girls and I'm tired of feeding them.

Anyone here going to the dalton show?

Would anyone happen to have a freshly hatched chick close to Morristown-Bulls Gap-Greeneville area? My silkie was setting some eggs and I am sure they are not going to hatch. I don't care the breed just something somewhat.....fresh....lol.... that I can put under her.
