Animals are some of the best therapy a person could want. I also go sit on my stool in the middle of my run and just watch my chickens. If I have a really bad day..everyone around here knows where I will be..either sitting in the chicken pens or in with my horses. They have seem me through ALOT. Sometimes it is just to get a good laugh and a few days all I could do was put my arms around my horse and cry into his neck. These are the places where stress just does not exist.

Ive only done a couple by my self. The trick is to pull food away for a day before so their intestines dont bulge and push everything else out the incision. otherwise it is just knowing where to cut and then keeping them locked down alone for a week till the outer skin has fused back. after that you can keep them for a couple years if you want and never worry about keeping with other roos or each other.

I don't have anything in the near future to send to freezer camp but would love to see everyone. If my knees are doing OK I can come and lend a hand. If anyone wants to skin their chickens rather than pluck I can show them how. I've got a mean knife!! Knees are coming along great...so....keeping fingers crossed that I can attend!! I will even make a gallon home-made hot chocolate!

I like the big ones 2, orp & brahmas yep. I had never seen so many little chickens in my life as at the show. I am sure there is many more at a larger show. Some of them were real cute.

I didn't even know they existed until I went to the spring show.

Y'all know I like my big-booty girls, but there is something to be said for the tiny ones, too. Bob, my OEGB, started laying, hatched a clutch, and now her daughters look like they might lay soon. My SLW, who are the same age as Bob, don't even look like they are THINKING about laying.
