Yeah..me too Bario. I think this may be some of the reason my hens are not laying. I use DE but am wondering if it is being effective.
I also have bought Oxine to treat my hen houses and chickens. Does anyone know what the dilution recipe is? I know a lot of people use it at shows to spray their chickens in the faces, which I wondered at the first show I attended "What in the world are these people doing??". Now I know. With all the wet weather coming I want to keep the fungal stuff down. I had a couple pullets who got runny noses and kept sneezing. The Oxine worked great but I did not mix it. I want to nip it in the bud this time!!!
Mowing in the nude???? That would make me want to poke my eyes out!

Sorry..had to leave town for a while with little access to computer. I am hoping to pick up valbazen on Monday. I need to figure out the price per ML. when I pick it up if you guys still need some.
@TNBARNQUEEN
OXINE dilution is normally as follows:
1 ml (cc) per gallon of water in your waterer to keep all slime/bacteria/fungus out of it. With oxine added to it, you dont need to change the water every day. You can let it go until they run out.
You can get an "ultra sonic" humidifier to fog the coop. Use about 7 oz. oxine per gallon of water and run the humidifier for 30 minutes every evening for a week to take care of upper resp infections and to sterilize the coop. You can use just one evening a week to knock down smell and to kill all the uckies (technical term, LOL) The unactivated oxine fog will not harm the chickens at all and will usually kill resp. infections.
LISTEN CAREFULLY!!!! I gave you instructions for UNACTIVATED OXINE!!! If you activate with citric acid, you can not get it around the chickens. You can fog the coop if you have some extreme problem.....but keep the chickens away until it is completely aired out.

Off Topic:..... We had a great Thanksgiving! I hope everyone else did. I hate to admit it but I was up at mid-night trying to buy a Christmas tree from Joann's. After a hour and half of the site crashing. I got a new tree. Also ordered a new set of muck boots! Had a craft fair yesterday. Done well. My friend hand paints signs. Got one for the front door that says Merry Christmas with a wreath in the middle that has a W in the middle for our last name!! Love it! She also made me Fresh egg sign for my chicken coop!! Love it. I've really had a great weekend! Now if Only I didn't feel like I gained 50lb! lol probably because I did!

I can post some pictures of her signs. If anyone is interested They are only $5 and she can write what ever you want on them. I don't think she charges extra for it either.

I am so happy we had such a great weekend!!! I really needed it!

That I know of she has not done a rabbit one. I work with her so I can find out tomorrow and get back to you. I'm going to go take some pictures. BRB

Thanks for the info Bario. I finally found a reliable site and have the humidifier ready.

I only get to accompany my son to the hen houses every 2-3 days. Went out today and happened to look in one of the cages on the wall. I had left the door open in case anyone wanted to stay in it. Back in the corner was a little nest with 6 eggs!!! They where not there 3 days ago. So...I FINALLY have silkie eggs!! and possibly D'Uccle. I have been waiting very impatiently for someone to do something!

Just let me know about the wormer bario. I want to worm everyone since they are not really laying much right now. Thanks!!!

really hoping it is in tomorrow.....

after mixing so that it comes out to 1 cc for a full size and 1/2 for a bantam, it will only be $2.00 to do 10 full size birds (10 CC premixed) Most of that is actually the syringe cost. This ratio will be for direct oral admin and not drenching. I think it is more precise to go with oral on each bird. They will only be mad at you for a few hours
