We now have 2 mallard eggs in the bator with the rest, just waiting on calls, the goose, the turkey and a few stubborn hens to start laying now. Anyone know how to keep roos from eating the eggs?

Try taking a few eggs...blow out the contents by making a small home on each end and blowing into one letting the contents. A large needle works good to make the holes. If you can get a needle long enough to go down into the egg to break the yolk. This will let it drain easier as you blow. After you have that done...take a syringe, fill with mustard and inject into the empty eggs. I have done that when I have a hen who wants to eat eggs. Hope it works!

what about us who only have doves/pigeons for now (thinking of trying to find some bantam hens, maybe games as had such great luck with them last time, i can get some eggs out of)??? mine are hardy, love eating the bugs around here even on the wing, can come fuzzy and dog like and come when called, they also do tricks! do we have to start a East TN. chicken, bunny, guinea pig, puppy, kitty, pigeon and duck (in order of most discussed so far as ive seen), thread? lol

anyone know if bantam breeds give good eggs, just smaller id assume?

My Bella the oeg or dutch bantam(whichever she is) lays an egg pretty much every day. They are tiny, but they are really good and my friend said one of the ones I gave her to try was a double yolker

Oh I forgot I'm also have my mini rex rabbit to give away, mismarked magpie, mostly white with dark lines running all over her. I also have a small hutch(the one she lives in) for $40. It's lightweight and fits on small trucks or maybe even an SUV.

Are you giving the rabbit away, but selling the cage? You said it was a she, how old (if you know), and is she pedigreed or just a pet?

Yeah she is free. I got her for free from a breeder cause she had sore hocks, but they are better now, she should be a bit under a year. Not pedigreed, but from a breeder and I saw many rabbits from her bloodline that were mini rexes.Yeah I'm selling the cage, I'll consider any offers or trades though

I'm really interested in her, I'm not sure on the cage though. Is it a cage, or a hutch that sits outside? I keep my buns in the rabbit barn, I learned my lesson with cages sitting out where wild animals can get to them, I had a baby bunny that got ripped through the cage the next morning all I found was his fur. Do you have a photo of both the rabbit and hutch? Is she really friendly? I'd probably take her to my grandmothers a lot for the kids to play with.

any pics of the cages, and bantams? i maybe interested in the cages more, if theyre anything like the size of the large basic one at the feed stores for meat rabbit breeding. id be using for da pidgies and maybe chooks if i got more bantam hens to lay me some eggs (remembered a neighbor has dutch that he just tosses the eggs from). i have to downsize my baby budgies and show pigeons though, as well as the bearded dragon trio and set up..

Oh I forgot I also have a huge inside cage that I never use. As soon as the rain stops I will take some pics, if that happens before I leave for work, if not I'll take some this evening
