Breed? So cute!

Well all have a splash maran roo over them. The hens are Ameraucanas and EE's All the green eggs and 1rouge ee with a brown egg are theirs. The very dark ones are from a black copper maran. And a few of the light tan eggs with spots are from my giant silver laced cochin. I just kept them to see what they would turn out and Pookey is the kids pet so I kind of had too lol. Hubby calls the cochin yard candy. Fluffy soft and pretty very tame. So the answer is mostly EE's that will lay olive eggs. With a blue copper maran chick or 2 and a couple of mixed yard fluffy mutts. but so far they mostly look blue!

Try taking a few eggs...blow out the contents by making a small home on each end and blowing into one letting the contents. A large needle works good to make the holes. If you can get a needle long enough to go down into the egg to break the yolk. This will let it drain easier as you blow. After you have that done...take a syringe, fill with mustard and inject into the empty eggs. I have done that when I have a hen who wants to eat eggs. Hope it works!

Havent tried this one yet, will try this either today or tomorow because hes eating the eggs my neighbors want to buy to eat lol. We have one smaller hen that will actually guard her egg until someone comes to collect it, she has never went broody but doesnt want the other chickens near her eggs i guess

These are the two chicks I bought at Biltmore yesterday. Guy said they were born 2/14, I think they are a few weeks older. I think I am going to name the silkie Ginger, and the cochin Miss Cleo.

Just got a sebastopol egg!!! First one she has laid, it is in the incubator and I am super excited that she is finally laying, the mallard eggs look about half the size of it. My mallard hen has also went broody as of today on a nest of 5+ eggs.

So....we all hope to have a good turn out.

Look forward to seeing every one!

Ok one small problem with the broody mallard, as it turns out, she is setting 5 of her own and a random chicken egg mom stuck in there for a nest egg so this little duck is going to have hopefully 5 little ducklings and a baby chick and i have no other chicken eggs set to hatch when it will

Can't wait! I should be meeting up with Nella sometime soon as well, so far I know I'm picking up bairo's cages and my incubator. Of course will have bairo's new bunny addition, the cute little creme. Bairo - he still digs the feed, you may want to plan ahead for this with something to prevent it. My friend read putting marbles at the bottom of bowl helps, I'd think putting a feeder up high may work.
