, I thought you wanted to see Harley. I forgot Gizmo would probably not feel the same. Next time I'll bring the one smaller than Gizmo ;)

Terry... those chicks are def. Marans or a marans mix. Doing well though.

Hey guys I am needing a little help sexing one of my EE'S. I have a 12 week old that I thought for sure was a little roo, but as time has progressed I am not for sure. He/she is much smaller than the other roos and the comb is much smaller and not dark red like the other little roos the same age. I put an album under my profile "boy or girl" with four pictures of he/she. Would you all mind to check it out and put comments under the picture of what you think. Thanks so much for your help! My little girl chose the name Pinto Bean for this one. I don't know where she gets her names.

some EE's can be hard to tell, especially the pea or strawberry combs. If not as large or red as the others..I would say there is a good chance it is a hen. I can say that is one stout bird for 12 weeks

If I was guessing I would say roo. I think I see saddle feathers, but it sure has a small comb.

I say pullet, with a slight chance it may be a slow developing rooster. It doesn't look roosterish, the neck is short and held close to the body and the comb isn't that red yet.

Has anyone else had the issue of silkie chicks hatching out with beards too fluffy to the point it keeps sticking to the poor things eyes? My buff did so i trimmed its beard way down to make sure it didnt get an eye infection or cause permenant damage but its doing fine now. Im just wondering if I will have to keep it cut as it grows out into a adult bird.

I don't have a lot of experience with EE's, so take it this with a grain of salt, but I'm thinking cockerel, too. It's comb is small but it is way redder than my Ameraucana girls that are close to the same age. I think white is more common with males than with female EE's, too. Have you thought of posting in the EE thread? There are some very experienced people there, too.

Stang, that little cockerel is so cute. He looks splash, but that's not possible, is it? You have black over splash, right? My kids have been begging me for a frizzle.

I need to find a good home for the Blue Wheaten Ameraucana. He's my avatar right now and is just starting to get his adult feathers. They are coming in blue with mahogany lacing and it is beautiful.

Wish I could help, but my only silkie is hatchery and has three whole feathers on her head. She looks like an alien. This sounds like a question for Barnqueen.
