@ stang

Sorry to hear about Fredrick needing another home. He has become kind of the clubs mascot Rooster, LOL

I think maybe we should just continue to pass him around the group. He has been such a sport about it all, he has earned his reprieve from the table I think. He started with Daph, then me, then you......hmmm who's turn is it

Dont be shy yall, step right up and claim him for a while.

Stang, you might want to post a picture of him again. I love the one you posted when you first got him where he looks like he's wearing pants.

Well....
Daphne had Fredrick as an extra roo...I liked him so she gave him to me. I kept him for a while but then changed what I was trying to breed......Stang needed a nice Cochin Rooster and so he ended up with her. Now that she no longer needs him for her breeding though, she needs to find him another home as well. He is very well rounded and gentle...just not quite show quality. I would take him back in a heart beat if my main rooster would not fight with him but with both roos being adults and Fredrick being a bit on the submissive side I dont want him to get hurt. Here is a pic of when I had him...he was always a joy to watch as he was watching over my girls and they really loved him because he was so gentle.

I'll show the postings to my Hubby --we have that insulation already--how do I keep the hens from pecking it through the hardware cloth??? Use a spacer board? Any Ideas on where to attach the run? do I run it between the sides of the barn with the PVC privacy fence as a wind break?-- Or down the longest side of the coop(pic with donkey ear) and leave a space(couple of feet) between to keep the hens from pecking the weather proofing? would the latter way with the space give more protection from the wind blowing against the foam siding??

Been a minute since I've been on here!!

Fredrick, he's suck a sexy beastie lol!! I'm still battling the too many roosters issue myself.

Had another coyote come through 30 minutes after letting the flock run a few weeks back. He grabbed a BR hen and Ron, my huge BR roo, went after him. I thought Ron was a goner, they both ran into the tall field next to our house. Ron came sauntering back minus his tail feathers with not a scratch on him. I don't know if Ron beat the poop out of him, just scared him good, or got really lucky. I have to call a trapper, these coyotes are really out of hand now. I haven't got anything new and haven;t been hatching since the last batch of eggs I bought online turned out to be NOT the breed I purchased.
