ok...I still have to go back and read 20 posts...but I wanted to comment on this one 1st.

I would only add that I too don't give protein supplements like Meat. I do the exact same thing as her on the scratch, and I mix in some all flock with the regular feed about half and half. It is just the nature of the beast this time of the year. You can do supplemental light as well, but I don't worry about it, I just let nature do its thing.

Whew! I have caught up on 38 posts. So in no particular order here goes:

Since you nominated ADHD to do the picnic consider yourselves for warned. I will ask a blue million questions repeatedly and would appreciate some insight!

Are we meeting at the Knoxville Zoo? Do they still have a picnic area on the Fairgrounds? Does anyone know where the natural spring is on Love's Creek Rd? I go by there some & I think they have a picnic area. It is not far from the zoo. If you get off I-40 at the Rutledge Pke Exit & go the opposite direction of the zoo I think its the 2nd traffic light & you turn left, go through the tunnel & its the first right. Its very easy to find & I think its a public park. Just a thought.

Now for the food. Do we get a head count on those planning to attend, allocate out the buns, meat, side dishes, drinks, desserts, cups, ice, napkins, plates, condiments, etc. I know Sam's sells some decent frozen burger patties (18 -20 count not sure) for around $20, they have hot dogs, buns, etc. There is also a Merita bread store close to the mall. And what about charcoal and/or grills (if they do not have them there)?

How many ppl at the last one? How did you do it? We are not bringing pets: does this include kids & spouses (just kidding). See I warned you.

All kidding aside I will gladly help if someone else wants to do it with me.

I do not have any ideas on the predator or the goat posts. I do agree with giving too much treats affecting chickens. I have cut way down on my treats & they are giving me the "look"

The Knoxville Zoo was just a reference to help find a central location so the most members could come.
Anywhere that has a picnic area and preferably with a play ground for the kids and is cheap or free make the best places.

(warning you have to have REALLY good directions or someone will get lost)

Head count does not work since some peoples plans change at the last minute and the might not get to come.
Everyone tells what food they are planning on bringing then we fill in the gaps.
Usually at least two people wind up bring plates, napkins, forks and spoons.
Ore or two people will bring a meat (usually bario, he likes to grill) and someone else will bring bread and condiments.

This is a BIG ONE, everyone brings their OWN drinks, that way everyone has what the like and there is not a need for cups and ice.

Last time i think we were supposed to have around 30 or so and only about 18 were able to make it.

The spouses, better half's and kids are ALWAYS wanted, at least at the picnic.

The hardest part of the whole thing is finding a location, that works for the most people and a day.

Good area? It shows they have a picnic facility, but hard to find other good info.

The Love's Creek park is very easy to find, free, has a natural spring, creek, walking path/trail and I think it has playground stuff for kids, large open area & covered picnic area. I think its a first come first serve. I am going to Knoxville Friday and will go by & double check. If I don't forge I will take my camera & get pics. The address is 5201 Parker Dirive, Knoxville. It is extremely easy to find. Just let me know what you think. Our weekends are flexible most of the time. I will plan on bringing at least one dessert does everyone like chocolate? I can bring several other things just make suggestions.

I forgot to add this is a fairly good location & they have updated it in the last few years. Its not far from the Forks of the River (is that the one where they have lots of ballgames near Comcast?). Well I got to get back to cleaning. Stupid house will not clean itself.
