LOL

I think she was kidding....or she got me mixed up with one of Daph's big butt girls

I was referring to a post where she said she had put about 80 eggs under her broody hen.

Brought Plymouth in for his second shot tonight. Tommy got home late, and he waited patiently on the kitchen counter. This shot was different than the last time because you could tell he was not liking it. Afterward, I cut a piece of apple and banana and tried to fool him by dipping them in yogart. The boy loves his apple. Didn't want to give him more fruit so we took one ritz cracker and dipped it in yogart. This chicken is spoiled.

He propped himself up on the cutting block and roosted. We hated taking him back out because you could tell he was happy. When he got back to his roost, his girlfried (New Hampshire Red) kept moving around him like she knew he had been eating goodies. I wiped the crumbs off his mouth before we took him, but they knew something was up.

I think Plymouth is enjoying his shots.

I love him. LOVE HIM.

OK...who uttered the dirty word??? ebay.....

I have now got a list of eggs I want to buy. Must....be.....strong. Step away from the credit card. You folks are very bad influences....I am so glad I found you.

It's not safe to put raw chicken on the counter.

This is my hen house cat, Tag-Along. She likes to lounge around during the day. I caught her today waiting for a mouse to come out. The chickens decided to come cheer her on.

Here are the pics Bario wanted me to post of the brooder he built that is great for wintering young chicks. He is graciously letting me use it!

This is the top..underneath the shavings is a metal shelf. They help to insulate the heat underneath

This is the underside of it. not the bulb as a heat source. and the last pic shows the front part raised a bit for the chicks to access underneath. You can put their water and food so the big chickens cannot get to it.

Sorry, Bairo. Terry's pictures of the brooder make so much more sense! I actually understand it now.

That's a neat setup. Did you say the only drawback is that you can't check out the chicks easily?
