So I am going to bring a couple more young adults to the show to get rid of (cheap) I think these are what will be there:

8 week old Welsummer over Delaware cockeral (free)
8 Week old Welsummer over Cuckoo Marans. 75% sure it is a pullet. $5.00 (I have raised several of these and love the combination, nice dark eggs and beautiful black birds with golden orange flecks)
8 month old Golden Campine pullet...we think, lol. She was a mistake in a Meyer order. $5.00
8 month old Pure bred Welsummer pullet has been laying for 2 months $20.00
8 month old Easter Egger laying a pinkish / light brownish egg $10.00

Please speak up if you want me to hold any for you. Kim wants a few buff orps to put in the new (to be built) pen also....so I will trade for buff orps if they are under 3 months old. Or even hatching eggs...I'm flexible

Isn't it kind of late in the year for my cornish game hen to be losing feathers? She looks rough. And she's a demon so we figure nothing bad could ever happen to her. lol

I set up a mealworm farm last year. I started off with 2 dozen and now I'm at around 500, haven't really counted them. There is a good thread on this site in the feed section called mealworm farming. If you just read the first 15 or so pages you will get all the info you need to start. Biggest consideration for our climate is the humidity, mealworms like it dry.
I lost more than half my mealworm farm (est. 100,000+ at the time counting worms only) when I was away after my accident. No one was caring for them and their water source made the whole thing moldy. That would do it.

I managed to save some of mine and am starting over again. I only started with 12.... and man, you want to see fun... put some tiny ones in with the chicks food!

Ah, I need to build a new coop as well!! Maybe with the cold weather prices of wood will go down? You know, the rules of supply and demand...

So anyone going to the Newport show have a extra Swedish Flower Hen rooster? So long as he is healthy, I don't care if he is crested or not or any of that crap. The fun of the breed is letting genetics decide, not culling crap like that out. Anywho... I need a roo. Or a older cockerel would work too since he would have until Spring to get going.

If not, I'll be buying some hatching eggs off someone and just not breeding them. I am going to be focusing on my Sulmtalers anyways with the sport I got... I'll be doing two flocks. But still.... SFH roo anyone?

Contrastphoto is the only one near us that I know is still involved with SFH. Last I heard she had still planned on bringing some to the show, might want to get hold of her and see if she has any older cockerals she would bring?
