I had the same thought with my feed bags. I had built 3 chicken coops that were 3 feet by 8feet long to go in my 10x80 chicken runs. The bags were the prfect length to use for the roof. I had heavy duty tarps that I folded over like 3 times and used, but if I build more coops which I will that is what I am doing. I am going to turn them inside out so they are all white and make them 3 or 4 deep on the roof so I know for sure it will not leak. That's just an idea. If you got any good ones to do with them let me know. I thought it might look bad, but when I turned them inside out and put them on the top it didn't look bad at all. So next time I am going to try that. I have also thought of using them to cover the slats in the walls to keep wind out. I didn't do that because I wanted fresh air to be able to come in somewhat.

Yours sounds more like a good working idea. Mine will be more of a crafty kind of thing not utilitarian at all. I was thinking of making some cute coin purses or bags. It will all depend on my sewing skills.

Remind me, that if I'm ever invited over to your house, not to grab candy out of that bowl...

@AJ...I have the same problem....but am actually up to 3 eggs..maybe ...a day. Only 2 that I can incubate. I did find some eggs that I have been wanting for a very long time...a long time. Columbian silkies. I am so excited. Looks like you , Stang, Lunar and I will be hatching at the same time. I have 2 orders that should be here Thur or Fri so will be setting on Sat. Bario had to go and show me a new breed he found...and of course I could not resist...well...that is what I told DH and I am sticking to it.

I cannot complain much about what DH keeps..it is just that he keeps it ALL over the place. He will tell me to go get a tool at the barn section that is his...yeah...like I am going to find it?? My biggest problem with him is clothes. He gets a couple favorite shorts and after 8 years will not give them up...I HATE THEM!!!!!! They are nylon and horrible..the elastic is stretching, they are stained ... for some bizarre reason one pair disappeared.

I see the other pair doing the same in the near future. That is how I get rid of things. But I will have to say I have a LOT of art stuff. I keep thinking I am actually going to get the time to use it. Maybe.
@littlechicklet...there was a show on TV I watched where they where taking bags from Purina dog food and making usable things for pets out of it. They made raincoats, collars, round tubes for obstical courses...things like that. There was someone here on BYC who made pocketbooks out of one. I have one out of a chicken feed bag. I will try to get a pic of it tomorrow. It is neat. The purina company was impressed with the products that where made and wanted to put some into production from bags that people return. Sown together they would make great tarps. I use mine for a lot of things too. You could probably cut out a pattern of my bag and make different sizes littlechicklet. Or even make hobo bags out of them. I use to have a pattern for that somewhere.

My husband and son also have things that just seem to disappear.

Maybe the rag bin was hungry? And both of mine always think I know where everything is. Really? I am suppose to locate one of 5 measuring tapes or one of the 4 levels, battery chargers, bits, pencils, squares, etc. Dh drives me nuts he puts everything in a box and nothing back where it came from or leaves it for me to pick up. After almost 20 years I just chuck it all in the box he started with and let him dig through it. This is why we have 5 measuring tapes, 4-5 levels, etc. he misplaces them & we end up buying new ones.

Thanks for the ideas on the bags. I have seen some really nice ones. I found a pattern and am going to give it a try. I love hobo bags.

My worms made it today. They arrived safe & I only saw a few dead ones. I put them in a temporary ziploc container with some air holes & fresh oats. I never have housing ready for anything???

I guess if I waited until I had the housing done then I would never get anything new.

bairo- the chicks are adorable. Which reminds me we haven't seen any updates on the baby bunnies.

stang- sorry about your eggs. Its time for a bunny fix.....hint, hint.

I'm right there with you... that is why I have extra coops and cages and tanks for EVERYTHING... because at some point I got the critter before the housing. It's because I say "It takes three weeks to hatch, then 6 weeks in a brooder... I got 9 weeks to build that coop!" and then 8 weeks later I'm calling my Mom, Dad, and brother to get over here and help me get it done in one day. You think I would be tired of hearing my mother give the "When are you gonna learn" speach. LMAO

But that said... I had my tubs for the mealworms before the worms. NA NA NA NA BOO BOO!!

TEE HEE! lol

Hey everyone... I got my nipples in the mail. I'm having fun now with plastics! LMAO! Seriously... I got a mealworm project for AJ (gonna be AWESOME!) and now bucket waters too. AND I got some more carving tools for all the discounted pumpkins I'll be getting starting tomorrow. I'm seriously happy! Doesn't take much, except a outlet for some creative thinking.

They're hard to keep still at this age (they have airplane ears!), I'll be lucky to get some butts while they try to sneak a snack while momma is eating
