Hey everyone! I'm new here and in Northeast TN, I was wonder if anyone in the area bought feed from a local mill or knew of one in or around the Tri-cities?
We have one in Morristown but that is about an hour and half drive for you I think. They will mix what you want. That is where I get my formulated feed done. They have a lot of things you can only find at a milling company. If you bought in quantity it may be worth the drive to buy there or if you have friends who want the same thing.
Welcome to out thread....beware....we are enablers!!

Hey littlechiklet...do you still have plenty of valbezine? I have some young ones who are needing to be wormed. I still have about 10ccs left but did not know if it goes bad or not being out of the main container. If you do PM me.

So far I have 5 chocolate orpingtons ! i am amazed since they were shipped. still waiting on isbars, not even a pip yet.

I think Greenfire has had one or two come-to-Jesus meetings with their local postal service because they seem to have excellent results on their hatching eggs. I've hardly ever seen poor feedback on any thread or site. And frankly, for what they charge I would almost expect them to drive to my door personally.

AJ... Congratulations!! I just saw you won the # of eggs hatched guess!! Yeah for you!!
Thank you. Can not wait for it to get here.
My Welsummer finally started laying and I would like to hatch some of the eggs.

SHEW!! SFH- seperated, Lavender orps- seperated, Americaunas- seperated, Coronation Sussex-seperated, Lemon Cuckoos- seperated. Now...who's next???
I know what you mean. I have 21 pens and NEED to replace 6 of them and
REALLY REALLY NEED about 6 more on top of that for grow off pens.

Quote: I like to get feed from Morristown Mill or Johnson's Feed Mill in Tazewell. Both have really great products.

On another note I STILL do not know how many I hatched for the NYD hatchalong.
They are still coming out.
I set 192.
Locked down 147.
They started hatching Sunday night and have not stopped since.
So far I have been afraid of opening the hatcher's for fear of shrink wrapping.

@Lunar not only did the Seramas start early so did the Home Grown Bantams.

I did some more changes to the chick house over the last few days.
I now have 2 brooders in there that are 2ft deep and 8ft wide.
Each one is designed to split into 3 sections.
Each has 3 heat lights, each on its own dimmer switch.
Even today with the back door open and raining outside,
I was able to still hold @ 100* under each light.

Next change to the chick house is a new 10ft X 30ft building.
10ft of wall space for Hatching.
Five 2ft x 10ft wall brooders.
Three grow off pens 10ft x 10ft. on the floor.

If it works the way I think,
The chicks will be 10 to 12 weeks old before they every
have to be taken out of the chick house.
Then they will be old enough to have all their feathers and
be able to go into unheated pens.

And this will way I will be able to have a hatch EVERY week.
OMG DID I JUST SAY THAT OUT LOUD.

Thanks so much! We make regular trips in both direction so I will look into both! Do either carry any organic or all natural?
As for enabling.....it won't take much.

Got a new little chicken and guinea trick going on here: I'm not into them like I was during the warmer months. I've started opening the coop door and walking away from them. I use to keep a very close eye on them. Now they bring themselves home at night. It is the coolest thing ever. We go at dusk and shut the doors. Still getting over 50% egg production.

And the guineas are still not staying together. It is odd to watch them go off in two's and three's.
