No, you are very welcome to post wants and haves here... heck, you can even get off topic from chickens... most people here like rabbits as a topic, sometimes goats and donkeys, as well.

I, personally, can't help you out right now, timing is bad for me... but I like the size on that thunder-thighs you have in the front there... the one that looks like it is trying to be a Delaware.
wow....lol, that is def. a thunder thighs. Columbian Rock cross??

Well, I went out after all the rains...OMG! The water I had running around and through my run! I could have done a backstroke in it. Thank goodness I don't have chickens yet. What are some recommendations on keeping the ground dry? I am going to cover the run, partially. But, once the ground is just down to dirt, what do you all do to keep it dry?

Try a 3 inch layer of crusher run and on top of that put 5-6 inches of sand. Make sure you have something built around your run so the rain does not run it out...like mine did. My boundary was not tall enough and it rain over the top. I lost about $90 of sand washed out into the grass. Believe me..I will have HIGH boards around it by spring! If you rake your sand good every other day it stays nice and lets the poop run down into the rock base. The rock base makes good drainage.

Ok...here is your "Did you know...for the day"

Did you know.....that eggs are white while inside the hen. The color is added by glands at the entrance of the vent. So when a hen lays the color is added as it leaves the chickens body.

I thought the color added was only on certain breeds, ie. BCM for one. Their eggs are dark but you can wash the color off where as say a Welsummer's eggs are dark but its in the shell not a coating.

ETA: some of my EEs have eggs with colored shells all the way through, some not. So I guess my confusion is: If its added how does it penatrate some breeds' eggs and not others?

I have read that before, but now I'm wondering... if you scratch the blue eggs, the color doesn't come off... some of the brown are the same. HMMMMMMMM

Got a question. Does anyone else have a very annoying/loving bunny? My female follows me around the house and climbs all over me. And do any of you know a vet that can fix them. I think it maybe to late but I still want it done.
