I just ordered this also. I would love to get to a show that had more large fowl than the CCshow does. I know we have another coming up I shall check show listing at APA site.

Wanted to pass on this link for those that do not know about it. It is a free ezine for showing. http://www.exhibitionpoultry.net/

We didn't find what we were looking for at the show but, it was great meeting some fellow chicken lovers.

Tennesseeckn, I think Roo is beautiful. He sure made my wife and I stop and take a look at him. And he's not fat....just big boned !

We had fun, but DH doesn't like bantams

so we didn't see anything we wanted. Since we weren't showing and there wasn't many standard sized breeds we decided to head home right after lunch.

Tennesseeckn, we discussed getting a few of your chicks but we couldn't afford paying that much since I was getting BLRW's from HBuehler from Middle TN the same day. I got 4 BLRW's and 8 hatching eggs

, my loving aunt brought them down for me since I'm sick. As far as your rooster goes, DH loved him! He wanted to know how fast he got that big?

@TNchickenut. me or the guy in maryville? as could kinda describe things since my vacume broke and had to try to borrow others, till mine was dried out after extensive cleaning (with this mess ittl probly need to be redone after i vacume this time..), last time of my place.

That's awesome! I didn't know the site existed. Thanks for the link.

Roo will be eight months old in a couple of weeks. He got as tall as he is now pretty quickly, he's just been filling out the last two months. They tell me they don't stop filling out until they are eighteen months old. Roo is one of my two tallest cockerels. The others are shorter and they are all broader.

I had them at the sale but didn't sell them. Not willing to go below $12 each. Unless you buy all four and then I'll take $40.

The blue cochin rooster pictured is the dad. Mom was a marans/ameraucana cross. Everyone LOVED the splash and the blue girl.....just nobody bought them! I sold a couple other hens, but not these four. They are all Point of Lay/laying. 1 black hen laid a pullet egg there, no idea on the others. I believe the blue and splash girls are laying and the other black is still a few weeks off.
