Huh??? Sweet tea here is not even tea! It is a sugary syrup the color of tea! My husband drinks two of the large ones from Mc D's every day! I don't let my kids drink it. I can't even drink it myself. Pure sugar!!!

I personally love it, but i avoid caffine for my kids like "like poles" avoid each other!!! I see so many kids with "sweet tea" around here it simply amazes me! All i can think is "ohhhh i'm thanking the stars above that those kids arent going to MY house to bounce off the walls all night long!"

I don't hear many people call all pops "coke", but I have heard soft drinks before. Its all good, ha

My wife and I usually call them all cokes as well. Usually when we stop by the store to get gas the conversation goes like this: "You want a coke while I'm in there paying?"
"Yeah, sure."
"What kind you want?"
"Diet Dr. Pepper."
The exceptions are 24 ounce or larger drinks. Those are collectively known as" knee-high-bellywasher cole dranks."

I call all soft drinks "cokes"...I haven't had a Coke since February 19, 2009. My dh grew up in Parrottsville, TN, where an Orange Crush was called an "orange dope." One of his favorite treats was a MoonPie and a big orange dope. Hmmm, I thought dope = model airplane glue. At least that's what my uncle called it when we were both kids.

I had an aunt who lived in VA, and she drank RC cola, but can't remember her calling them cokes, just RC's. I can't help but wonder why everything is "coke", why not everything being Dr. Pepper, or 7 up?

Well my big one was when the lady at walmart asked me if I needed a "buggy" I really ticked her off because I asked her to repeat herself 3 times and still looked at her like she was an alien. Where I come from a "Buggy" is what the Amish folks ride around in. It is a shopping cart. Not a basket, buggy, or bascart......... LOL

Oh yea..and the thing on you car you use to indicate a turn is a turn signal not a blinker or flasher

I think its because coke has been around the longest. Since the 1880's or 1890's. The guy who invented it actually didnt even really make that much money because he concentrated on fountain drink sales. The Johnston family swooped in and got the bottling rights and have been rolling in the mucho dinero ever since. They actually sort of live and own a zillion acres in McDonald TN which is just north of Chattanooga and south of Cleveland. I'm Old fort mail man and this has been your backyard chickens behind the soda moment I guess.
