The entire flock is now for sale. Won't be cheap, and yes I will split them up and sell hens individually however each hen will go home with a young 2 month old cockerel.

1 black mottled cockerel
3 blue mottled pullets
6 black mottled hens

3 hens are show quality....the other hens its a toss up. All will be shown at TN Valley Fair and for sale immediately thereafter.

Also have lots of young mottled cockerels for sale.

Here is hoping everyone has a safe & enjoyable Labor Day Weekend. By the way watch out for motorcyclists they will be everywhere this weekend including me. Enjoy your families !!!!

Good News

I have managed to sell ALL my older/mixed girls.
Now most everything I have is straight breeds with the exception of some feather leggs.
Dad purchased them with the understanding that they were Faverolles. Out of 30 only 2 had 5 toes.
He did not know exactly what a Faverolles was or how to tell them apart.

So now I have:
Cuckoo Marans
Wheaten Marans
French Black Cooper Marans
Barred Rocks
Rhode Island Reds
Ameraucanas
Faverolles and what ever the others may be.
Blue Laced Red Wyandottes

Only bad thing is most of them are still too young to lay.
So with all these chickens I may have to start buying eggs again.
But come winter time I will probably be eating eggs for EVERY meal and snack.

Hi Dawn glad to see you join us.

Sorry I have not been on for the past couple of weeks. Been busy. Our chickens are doing great. Almost to the point where I have to get those promised to new owner. That will bring my flock down from 30. Once I pick out the 4 roosters I am going to keep that will bring it down some more.

Got coop maintance to do yet but that is fall stuff. I need to get a shop vac and clean walls of coop real well for winter. It is so dusty in there its not funny. We still have not moved new chicks in yet but they can wait till we take care of a few coop things first.

I hope everyone has a safe Labor Day. Watch the weather it is suppose to be bad.

ok looking at the fair webpage >tn valley< when is the chicken show? I see exhibits are scheduled all week is the show the day before the fair??? I want to come up to the show and maybe bring a newbie or 3 home with me but its a good ride for me and we wanted to do the fair as well.

Tn valley fair.....chicken show is Monday. Birds have to be in place by either Sunday night or Monday morning, can't reemember which....I'm bringing mine up Friday morning as I will bee at a rabbit show on Saturday in NC.

Best bet if you can swing it is to come up Monday. Once judgin is over on Monday people (like me) may put sale signs on the show cages also (not just the sale cages). I am bringing 10 birds to show but only want to bring 3 home.....
