Awwwww.

Can you post pictures for those of us that are bunny-challenged? Black is the only color I can picture.

Okay, there are 4 babies. 2 black bucks, 2 pointed white does. 3 are related, 1 pt white doe is from another litter. These are NOT show quality and have no pedigrees. The white snippet is a DQ...and also means she carries the vienna gene. Of the blacks, one is super poofy but has a little bit long ears (probably still shorter than most lionheads you see).

I personally like bucks better for pets, they seem to be more mellow and are cheap to neuter if you decide to go that route! ($40)

Here is the pt white doe carrying vienna gene. She is on hold currently as I am trying to decide if I want to keep her lol

For an idea of what a slightly older pt white looks like....here is a show quality junior pointed white buck. He won Best Opposite of Breed at a show yesterday. His chest is wider than it looks in these pix, he was not wanting to pose. Little booger. He won Best of Breed at a show 2 weeks ago, along with another Best of Opposite at another show the same day.

Next time you process one, put it in a zip lock in the fridge for 3 full days before freezing it. That gives the muscle fibers plenty of time to relax before you set them in freezer. You will be very surprised at the lack of stringiness, toughness, and dryness if you do that. The only time I freeze them asap is if I am going to use it for dog food anyway. Even if you can process one in under 10 minutes and get it in the freezer before that time (the aprox. time it takes for rigamortis on a chicken) they will still stiffen up during the kill process) You got to give them some love and let them chill for several days, LOL

She is resting in fridge not freezer. I always rest for 3-4 days before hitting freezer. The last ime had to take to Knoxville to rest in fridge there for 3 days before bringing back here to go in freezer. No room in home fridge. In doing these meaties in 2 weeks they will be resting K-town fridge as well. The only benefit to having 2 houses.lol

Nella....I certainly did not need to see these adorable babies!! If I ask for one more cage to be built I know I will have a mutiny on my hands. But they are extremely gorgeous!!!

I rest mine for about a week. This is the same way they age beef that they charge so much more for. I have a tub that lets me lay them all in with their legs tied. First time I did not even think about rigor. Should have seen the chickens after they where in the vinegar ice water 30 minutes later. That is why I tie the legs as soon as I have one processed!

I wouldn't even consider doing this if I hadn't discovered you can make generous pens out of those wire storage cubes. They would have to be inside, of course.
