No Terri..... You can not have "snicker-doodle" LOL that is Megans absolute favorite. She is going to be very special to our little experiment though.
I did not know you had worked with crossing wels into Ameraucana's...thats funny I picked it for my next project

If was very interesting....the only thing I did not like was they tend to carry over a lot of red. I have a solid white beauty...she will be in the show at Newport. I would like to find some more solid colors. I think the one I liked will throw some nice color. The only other thing I did not like was some tended to have that long Wel. neck. I like the shorter neck. I threw a few eggs from my splash maran roo and my red americaunae. I was curious what they would look like. I just added my white one with him. I noticed the first night she snuggled up under his wing. So...hopefully when she settles in and lays a few eggs I will incubate a couple.
I hatched a couple from a woman in Middle Tn that looked like they had little owl faces.
See you are the show tomorrow!

yea...I kind of thought that those strong wel genes will show a lot. Thats why snicker doodle is one of the important ones for the breeding. She has so much of a white base under that little splash...I also have a pure white one and a gold that is not in the pics. I need to go kind of backwards and throw a splashy Roo off and then breed him back to the light splash....and then go back to normal and breed that off spring back into to him again. I am going for a specific color pattern 1st but I would really like to also get a spotty green (not olive) egg.

Well I can tell you for a fact putting a splash maran roo over red or any other color Ameraucana or EE will produce blue and splash. 75% of them have feathers on the shanks. Out of 39 chicks 2 are splash. I have them mixed up with the BCM and 1 splash maran atm. But they are cute.

Just going to post Penny here, my wonderful hair stylist and shoulder sitter ameraucana. She HAS to do my hair for me every morning. She runs up on my shoulders when I bend down to fill the feeders.

Hope everyone has a wonderful chicken filled day! Wish i could be at the show, but I'm workinworkin!

Hi all,

I am in need of some help. We are being given a large tractor. Problem is we need a trailer to haul it down here from PA. It must be at least 8 feet wide, this is the problem. We checked local rentals but no one carries one in that width. Tractor weighs just under 8000 lbs. This is my BIL tractor and he is giving it to us if we can get it down here. If we could borrow one that would be great. We would even rent one if you knew someone that had one for rent that size.

Love the chicks pics. I have another hatching going on right now.

There are not many trailers that are 8 foot wide, most are 6-1/2 wide at least the ones you can pull with a normal pick up truck
Something that weighs 8k is probably going to need something heavier duty.
Maybe you could call the TV show "Shipping Wars".

Ohh I just checked the nest 2 teensy tiny mille fleur old english bantams in the nest, just hatched.
What an enabler I am, my friend was planning on getting 2 or 3 chickens a few days ago, she has 12 now
