I also have 3 or 4 lovely Blue Wheaten Ameraucana boys that I hatched from Tennesseeckn's eggs. Out of 5 chicks I think I only have one girl.

They are six weeks old, supper sweet and adorable (and free to a BYC home.)
Join the crowd, LOL

I have 3 certainly and one more that is a 90 % chancer. Out of 6 that hatched, I got only 2 for sure girls. I say we boycott tennesseeckn if she mentions eggs again

(BCM, not from tennesseeckn....just buddies with the Ameraucanas)

Mwahahahahaaaa...

I just want to share the love!

I had a good ratio in my February hatch. I had five girls and one boy. That almost made up for the fact that out of two set of hatching eggs I had shipped to me, I ended up with four cockerels!!! Not one single little girl!!

I am on a boy run right now, though, with my other breeds. I hatched five boys and two girls in my SLW. I am currently at two boys and one little one too young to sex in the orps. Could it be related to the time of year you hatch, I wonder?

I've got another clutch of orps due in a week (I looked back at this thread to find that out, Chicklet) and I'm really hoping for at least one little splash girl...

I just got an email from EggCartons.com with a coupon for 20% off anything in the store for anyone who's interested. This is where I bought the "seconds" nesting boxes.

You just need to enter SCHOOL at checkout.

And to think I am waiting on Tennesseeckn's babies to hatch

just kidding I am beyond excited

Here's to hoping this hatch swings the other way

If I had the housing done or I was not so attached to my EE rooster I would love to have an Ameraucana cockerel. Actually I would love to have a small flock of Ameraucanas but its baby steps at my house (more like funds+time+housing=not right now).

I want, I need, I must have will be kept in check now that I am older and know some of my limits.

Hey! I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of where to get silkies in our area. I found a place somewhere near the Tellico area I believe while I was searching for another breed, and nowthat I am looking for them, I can't find the silkie place again for anything! I am looking for a partridge or black single young pullet. Thank you for any help!!

Got a call from the post office while my phone was dead, I just went and picked up my wyandotte box from Meyer Hatchery! 15 baby chicks, all chirping and alive!

I have a trap for weasel/mink sized vermin, I bought it as a double trap because comes with raccoon sized trap too. It was only $20 for both and the wire is covered in green covering so wire won't rust. If you were closer I'd let you borrow it.
I am sorry to hear that you lost your birds Barnqueen, I can tell you though that those live traps work wonderful. I lost half of my flock to something earlier this year(still not sure how it even got into the coop). I bought the set of 2 traps at TSC and within 2 hours I caught a stray cat, that same night a possum in the other trap and a couple days after that a huge racoon. I haven't had any problems since, but I set them back up once in a while just in case. I used canned catfood as bait, I can smell that stuff from 10 feet away, so I know it will attract anything near by. I hope you catch it soon.
