To TNBarnQueen, I am sorry to call you out. However, you are the first person I have heard of in my general area that has silkies. I was so excited to see this!!! I was wondering if you had any beauties for sale or possibly hatching eggs??? Please forgive me for being so forward. But when I hear about silkies I tend to get a bit over excited.

""From what I have seen on here things kind of wax and wane. Some days there are a great deal of posts and some not. I saw your post about the post office but I do not have any experience with it.""

@blessed.....

I think the above quote probably sums it up..especially the part about not having any experience at that post office. Although I do apologize that I personally did not give you the welcome you deserve to the East Tn Thread; I certainly do think we are all adults though and don't think many of us are going to coddle someone. We can't expect everyone to weigh in on every subject...even if it did happen to you a few times. **** I started the thread and don't get answers or replies half the time. The difference is that I understand people are busy and maybe they just did not have anything to offer me on that particular subject. I'm sorry you got your feelings hurt and we would love to have you posting to our thread, but if you get frustrated that easily then maybe this thread is not for you after all? You decide.

With the above being said......Please let me say this.

I do apologize (heart felt) for missing the last few new folks and welcoming them to our little corner of BYC. The forum does indeed wax and wane depending on so many things. For me it was probably some worry bout the future of our business in the winter and just trying to get caught up around the house from being so busy in the summer (feast or famine...I really do need a "normal" job, LOL) I have been popping in on the site for literally seconds at a time to check messages and what not. I used to stay on for a couple hours a day. SO please accept my apologies and let me assure you that we just love new folks to corrupt

Do you guys always ignore the new people, or just me. Three posts all ignored, last time on this board, thanks for the welcome!

Sorry did not realize you were new to the "Eastern Tennessee Thread", or new to BYC.
Did not see but one post, and thought you were someone else with similar name.
We do welcome all newcomers to our thread but sometimes we miss someone by mistake.
So with that being said

and "ETT"

The few times I delt with the post office, I had really good luck.
I however was calling the to alert them before the package even got there.
That way they were prepared and knew what I expected.

They should be interesting. Hen is a production red and the too is a BCM
Def get some pics up when they get some color about 8 weeks old. That should be an interesting combo. I dont know if the BCM male carries the dark egg gene like the Welsummer?? If so though it should be a pretty chicken that lays somewhat darker than a normal production red.

I have a couple of young ones now that Mr. Kellogs (our wellie roo) fathered over our Delaware hens. They are white with some black streaking and some copper just now beginning to show. I look for them to be hardy and docile that lay a darkish large egg.

Ill have them at Newport show November 10th along with hopefully some olive eggers and maybe a couple other mixes. I switched most of my stock early in the summer, so my layers are still youngish and im not getting that great of a hatch rate right now.

I don't think anyone was ignoring you, I was going to answer your post but if you aren't going to read it...

I didn't have time to answer when I read it earlier, but oh well... homework comes first!

I only found this post and the PO post, so as stated above it may have been over looked due to the days of a bunch of posts or something to that effect. I've been on this thread since before it was it's own thread and have had many posts or comments/questions go un-answered. You either ask again or move on.

I have nothing else to post about, I was gonna talk crap about the PO and their lack of brains... Oh! I did buy a hen from the fair, she's in a tractor away from the flock... while she was at the fair treated with Sulmet, VetRx and Wazine. We'll see how that goes!
