Good to know! I've not ordered through MPC or Hubbard..
I like both... used to be MPC would do three chick minimum and Meyers hadn't yet... but now that Meyers does. I just go to them. They are good people (behind the scenes youtube videos) and I like to support good people.

Hubbard is a breeder on the side of hatchery... not really a hatchery. Julie Hubbard - google it. I ordered New Hampshires from her. Not the best type, but much better than the usual hatchery stuff. Something inbetween breeder and hatchery. That is where I got my bantam Barnies... and the only place you can get them other than me, that I know. So to that I say... BUY THEM FROM ME! lol!!!

But yeah, I even emailed the owner of MPC how this whole system worked. She vaiguely answered and I kept picking. I wanted to know. I knew there wasn't a giant farm with all these birds on one property. They are scattered all over, owned and ran by people like us, and the eggs are purchased by the hatchery to hatch and then sell chicks. So let's say you had 100 Barred Rocks that were decent. You could make a contract with a hatchery to buy your hatching eggs and they hatch them and sell the chicks. Not one hatchery owns all those birds.

So, is anyone going to the poultry show on the 20th? I would like to go. I have never been to one before. I would like to show my own eventually, but I want to go to one first. Does anyone know what time it is, or how much it costs to get in.

hi Everyone in East Tennessee. I am looking for bantam breeders or people who have bantams that want to get rid of a few. I am looking for chicks, eggs or adult birds. All bantams. I have some standard breeds that I am willing to trade or am willing to buy if the price is right. I started out thinking I wanted standard birds Until I got my first banty. He was a cochin mix. Loved that little bird. Now am breeding silkies, d'uccles, Old english and some cochin silkie mixes. I love the little birds. I am having a hard time finding anyone close to my area that has them. so if anyone knows any or has any let me know. My standards are speckled sussex hen, a game rooster(very pretty) , could probably get rid of some amerucanas. I m trying to get ready for the spring so I can open up my poultry business.
Welcome to our little piece of heaven!!

I am looking for a couple certain ameracuanas. Also I breed sillkies and D'Uccles too! Though I think I am going to sell out on most of my DU. Since I started raising Show Girl silkies I needed the extra room. If you would please PM about your ameracuanas...thanks!

This is what I found this morning!!

I am planning on going to the show. Hopefully my Polish will be completely out of his molt by then. I will probably show my white silkie roo. Considering my little lavender DU as well. Both of the roos did real well at the Newport show in May. It is a lot of fun to see all the different breeds and meet some of the breeders.
