well ive got a preamy. I had one pip entirely too early then lay there and got so dried out she was shrink wrapped and was sucking membrane.
Against all that I say not to do, I went ahead and rescued her. She still had about a 1/4 of the yolk sac hanging off her with her eyes matted shut. Yet somehow I feel the need to let her try.
I left her in the hatcher for 36 hours and she was still breathing (darn it). So I moved her over to the brooder tote and I'll be darn if she is now chirping and standing (barely, but still standing).
Still has some sac hanging off her rear end but still fighting. I dont have the heart to put her down as long as she is fighting. I have gotten too soft lately I tell you

She will be fine. I have them about one out of every 5 or so hatches. They always make it... never lost one. Just like you said, preamy. The main thing is keeping their ambilical cord clean and unpecked by others. I had ducklings do it, many chicks do it... worrysome, but not bad. They just look like they have a punk rock look a little longer. ;)

Yea ol' softy. Under that hardcore outer skin of yours, lies the heart of a chick/bunny lover.

Does any one want standard and giant Cochins. Will trade for Bantys. I have 2 birches,1 buff, and 1 black. I like the smaller Cochins these are to big for my backyard. They will eat out of you hand completely spoiled.

I think those naked little rats are as stinkin' cute now as they will be when they're older and causing trouble. I'm glad to know you like me. lol

@ littlechicklet - haha! My husband has a honey do list and I have many expectations that don't get met very fast.. He'll do work for people if they ask, but can be expensive if you know what I mean.. Our neighbor is wanting him to wire the trailer that sits next to their house so he could use it as a start up area for the business he wants.

@ tnchickenut - after I posted that last night I realized you left... so I signed off..

Tee hee!!! Yeah I grabbed a ride to do some late night Taco Belling. The one in Athens, TN is the best Taco Bell ever (and I have sampled hundereds) and again last night they proved it again... the food is just like the pictures of it. ;)
