Here is a case in point... that butt... result of canablism and it will never grow back. How do I know and can be so sure? I had a canabal from hatchery... she butchered up some her clutch mates the same way. They are alive and well... but it won't grow back, only the down will be there. Who wants pics of my ugly zombie girls?

ETA and now I'm really wanting them because I have a big soft spot for special needs/sad story chickens. Wait until you see my tiny LF Columbian Wyandotte. I have always hid her from the world because people might judge me, but it wasn't my fault. The killer was culled as soon as I caught her in the act... and this one and two others were butchered. But the Wyandotte had it the worst... her bones were showing and she looked like a literal zombie. Bless her. She is the best chicken, though. I nursed her in the house for 4 months!! WHY AM I ADMITTING THIS!?!?!

Ok, now I'm curious to see zombie girls..

I try to stay away from shows for fear I will buy something. I have never sold any & only have the one blue Orp rooster that I would consider showing but he is the one I treated for lice. The lice are gone but some of the dried up egg sacs have not fell off yet so I don't think he would do well. Also he refuses to roost on a perch so his rear is nasty.

I think my house is the Island of Misfit Chickens.

stang- they look like nice. I am a LF and clean leg kinda girl. I think I see the benefit of bantams but am not ready to cross over there yet.

Well, to be honest, this is only my second time going bantam sized... we'll see... My mom loved getting bantam eggs, said she'd make mini bisquits for my youngest sister and they were the perfect size for the bisquits... I'm partial to the feather legged breeds, it makes them look funny... like they're wearing baggy pants!

I like both bantams and LF... I don't eat eggs either way. Bantams are cuter and cheaper... LF are bigger and meatier. mmmm chicken.

You can still eat a bantam, but you have to do one for everyone eatting that day... "everybody has their own baby salad, with their own baby chicken" LMAO (that walmart phone commercial, incase you are wondering)
