Oh that's not bad at all, I can give shots, but the surgery is usually around $100 even with coupons when I checked last with my vet. I would much rather have them fixed before they go somewhere, I have already caught 5 cats in my traps this year and I still have some stalking chickens, I can't catch them as fast as they reproduce here. Many are ferals, but some are peoples pets that live around here and the owners don't have enough common sense to get them fixed or keep them inside. Sadly when I was looking for more kittens where I found these I also came across a dead one

Do you have a local shelter? Many of them offer low cost spay/neuter clinics? Is there a feral cat group in your area because they my help or link you to a low cost vet.

Okay stang I am going to leave you with it. I will catch up tomorrow & hopefully see if anyone posts anything about putting weight on chickens.

BTW the free range moos were back today. I almost hit one on my way to work & they came back tonight to see if we had anything left in the garden.

LOL! I dunno what you mean, they were talking about fermented feed? I would try feed with a higher protein %, but that's just my guess...

Poor things... glad you found them... look up PPAW - I know it is a drive for you, but sounds like it's worth it with the savings. Their momma and kitty special is $30 for the mom and $10 for the kittens (each) plus state rabies shot $7/each.... that includes their kitten shots.

I get disgusted at vet costs. Makes me want to be that old person going to school with the kids to become a vet and do something like PPAW does.

http://www.ppawspayneuterclinic.com/ -- they also do adoptions and might have room for the two kitties. ;)

Omg, I have been in the marans thread trying to figure out how to breed them to sop and I am more confused now than when I started. Ugh I started a 4page debate by asking if you can breed black to blue and holy crap .now I know to breed them separate. I then posted a pic of my roo and they told me not to use him because he has yellow between his toes. Then said to breed my hens to a yellow legged roo to see if any chicks come out with yellow legs. I had a production red hatch out chicks from this roo in question and all of the chicks have dark legs but they still say not to use him. If the test mating works for the hens why not the roo ? Ok, i am going to bed .....my brain is shot for the night
