I hate that I missed the get together! Stupid herpes!:

I hate that you missed it too. I had missed you on here & was just getting ready to ask about you. Glad to see you back on here.

The black one has the fluffy butt, its legs are maybe a little smaller but the comb/wattles are what have me concerned . If they were all as easy to sex as the one grey cockerel & black pullet it would be a breeze. Oh well I guess as with my white/black EEs time will tell.

And yes we have been chatty. I came home from work one day and in 8 hours I missed about 50+ posts

I figure no one is online right now, but I'm gonna ask.

I am looking for some plastic to wrap my carport cover that we are putting over my coop. It is 12x21. To wrap it in one sheet....it would need to be 5-6feet wide and about 60 feet long in a roll. This would allow me to wrap it in one solid piece. Anyone know if they make such a thing, and where would a rookie find such a thing?

OR.....would it be better to get individual tarps? I was just worried about the corners not being able to keep the wind out. I am kinda out in the open on flat ground so the wind will be a factor this winter.

Thanks for any/all advice.

Only thing I can think of is maybe a bale blanket.
But it is gonna be expensive.

Do you know anyone with an industrial sewing machine that could sew tarps together?

For a cheaper solution how about 1x2 strips screwed to make a framework.
Then the HD rolled plastic from Lowes or Home depot.
Then using Duct tape on the plastic where the strips are.
Then simply staple it to the 1x2s.

This would work for one winter and you may still have to make repairs (Restaple if the wind gets real bad and causes it to whip)

I will check on that. I have found 3mil clear plastic in 6ft wide rolls and about 25 feet long. I may have to overlap the corners. I will have to buy a roll and see just how thick that feels against the wind and see if maybe that might work. Thank you. I was just trying to make it look nice in one solid strip around the pen. But the top priority is to keep that winter wind off my girls and off the coop.

Thanks again! Any other suggestions are welcome.
