Was that "Singles"? lol Loved that movie.

If anyone might have a very young chick they could part with....I got a single in my Serama hatch and he's so tiny, I would like to find him a buddy for the brooder. By tiny, I mean.....itty bitty teeny tiny. lol

This is Uno, with his personal flock guardian. That toy is about 2 1/2 inches long. lol He is a trooper, but a lonely trooper. So, I thought I would ask.

TNBarnQueen -- chin up. Maybe after you switch bators, things will straighten out for you. I know its disheartening, but keep at it.
I have the top off the egg and it is resting with a wet cloth. I am waiting for it to absorb the blood before I go any father. I think by morning it will make it out. It is peeping and opening it's eyes so..right now just taking it easy. The other eggs are looking OK...I just hate I will have to stay close to them tomorrow. Guess the incubator will be going with me to moms tomorrow. That is going to be interesting. So...maybe I will have a temporary playmate for Uno Friday.

Does anyone happen to have call duck hatching eggs to sell? I have a few but would like a few more to go with them. Does not matter on color. Actually the more mixed the color the better....lol I just have them for pets.

I think I'm the only one with calls and mine aren't fertile right now. Lost my boys to a preditor and new drake won't be here until mid week next week. They are SQ Greys, btw.... Duck Creek line

Question... I know several of you all have Seramas in East Tn and I would like to know what you do during the winter and if you keep heat on them. I was going to get some for my daughter but, the more I read they are not very cold hardy and require a lot of care in the winter and extra heat sources. Would love everyones input.
I kept my "B" size seramas outside all last winter with no heat. There were 12 and they were put up each night in their house which was just big enough for them to sleep without overcrowding. It was not airtight but pretty snug. I live outside Chattanooga and we might not get quite as cold as you all. This year I have 6 "A" size and for now my plan is to keep them in the basement at night. When I have more I will probably keep them outside housed like the larger ones. On extremely cold nights it might be a good idea to add small heat source and be sure to keep them out of the wind.

I went thru the same questions. I kept reading and found that Jerry S. suggests a heat source for any weather under 40 degrees. I had to bring mine in when I first got them because they were shivering and well....I couldn't stand it. After that I placed a 250w red light about 15inches above the roost pole and run it all the time. The coop gets about 65 during the day and holds at 45 all night. I have a cottage coop that is 4' x 6' and only have a trio of Serama's and a single D'uccle. So not very many to generate much heat. I should add that I have a metal carport cover over my coop, so its shaded all the time. IF yours is in the sun, you probably can turn the light off during the day. Mine seem to be fine and my D'uccle is laying daily now. I lock my "kids" up at night, for protection, so I shut that coop around sundown and it generates heat with the light inside with only a vent toward the top.

Good luck with them. I love mine. They are full of personality. They huddle under that light pretty much all night. When mine start laying...maybe we can do some trading for different bloodlines.

Hey guys, my broken blue buck will be for sale soon... so if anyone was interested let me know!

The one on the right. Has a nice head and width, lacks the depth to go with it, the does were much better from the litter so will be keeping those until I decide who is best.

Hi all i have would like to try my hand at some show girls with bow ties .... Does anyone have any nice colored hens that are laying? I would like around 10 eggs... Thank you

Stang, question: When we got our male rabbits, they were babies. They took to the litter box easily. The two little does that we just got are making a horrible mess every single day. They just don't get the litter box idea. What can I do? Suggestions?
