Eastern Washington

I have been semi lurking on the Washingtonians thread and now I am going to be a semi lurker here.

I did ask a question on Washingtonians thread and was referred to this thread. So I would like to ask my question here.

We are still planning on moving to North Central, North Eastern Washington this spring. The properties we are looking at are around the town of Ford, North of Colville and most of the properties are between the Colville Indian Reservation and Canada.

What type of weather can we expect at the end of April beginning of May?

Thanks Michael

Michael,

Depending on what God sends us this winter (sometimes He doesn't listen to Al Gore and we chill a bit) and what elevation you're looking at, you should see anything from a foot of snow on the ground with it freezing at night temps in the 50's during the day. We live at around 3000' and have had snow on June 13th (didn't stay long) and a cold spot of 24 on July 10th (this was several years ago. Made us have to plant our garden again.)

There aren't many jobs available but the area is very beautiful with plenty of wildlife.

Hope I answered your question. Feel free to ask more, if you have them.

That time of year would be prime mud season. And yes depending on what the elevation is there could still be snow around at the beginning of May. I live at about 3200 feet and by the end of May there is usually some remaining snow piles from plowing and small stretches of snow in the shadiest parts of the property.

If you are planning on moving up here around then I would worry about being able to get a moving truck in the driveway due to soft, muddy ground at that time of year. Good luck to you! And keep us posted

The 2010 North/Central Washington Poultry Swap/Sale will be held Saturday, October 2nd Ellensburg, Washington!

In far north parking lot of the fairgrounds off of University way, across from Starbucks!!

Time: 11am to whenever!

You can bring anything poultry related (chickens, ducks, geese, guineas, hatching eggs, equipment, etc).

We just ask that you don't bring any poultry that may be ill or carrying any sort of disease! If it looks sick, leave it HOME!

Thanks!

I live in Selah so add me to the list of Eastern Washington. I will be attending the Poultry Swap in Ellensburg. I am looking for a nice home for my 17 week old buff-laced Polish Roo. Anyone interested send me an email.
