We just got 3 more in! All of them are quite tame, even more so big bertha and the orange sherbet one. All seem happy, at least one has already started laying again. Not sure which yet.

I know which breed Bertha is, but I'm not sure what's going on with her rump. She doesnt seem to be in any pain, have any complaints, and is honestly a fairly happy chook. She's a big chonker, but I'm not really worried too much about her. Should I be?

Next is blackie. I dont remember which breed she is, but I recognize the features. Should be obvious for most of you. I just realized I didnt get any good pics of her by herself. Seems to be at the very bottom of the pecking order, and has some pretty obvious patches of feathering missing. She's doing fine from what I can tell so far, but she's very skinny and I'm hoping she gets better.

Last one is orange sherbet. I cant quite place her. She seems to have taken over as the top or 2nd hen in the pecking order. She isnt overly aggressive to the others, and also has pretty much no issue with you walking up to her and picking her up. Some of her tail and wing feathers are a bit bare, plus others here and there, but I'm guessing it might be from stress and/or wherever else she was before here. Also not as bad as blackie's are

Do you gave a rooster that might be picking on the brown chicken in the photo? Is that orange sherbet? Anyway I think she is a red sexlink, or a Rhode Island Red. Do you have pics of her before she was missing so many feathers. I would keep s as n eye on the chicken with the big crop, maybe f st one thing to be concerned about. @Wyorp Rock ?

Thanks everyone, I assumed barred for the first, but that's cool that she isnt! She hasnt had any other symptoms so far, but I'll start givin her some warm baths to see if that's the issue and she is egg bound

#2 is probably australorp, couldnt remember. I'll get more pictures and post them

#3 definitely not a RIR, red sex link makes sense. Should be our first sex link, so that's exciting!

Thanks again everyone, will post back up later

Bertha is a Barred Plymouth Rock.
Looks like she may have some fluid in the abdomen or maybe some type of reproductive issue. That bulge has probably been there for a while. If she's eating/drinking and doing o.k., then I would just monitor her. Watch that the bulge doesn't get scabby or that the others don't pick at it.

Blackie is likely a Black Australorp look at the bottom of her feet - if they are white(ish)/grey or pink then Australorp. Patches of missing feathers....could be from picking or rooster.

Sex Link? Golden Comet? Some type of production bird.
Feather condition may be from picking or rooster.

Look over all the birds for lice/mites and treat accordingly, consider getting a fecal float to see if worms might be a concern.
Provide fresh feed, fresh water and see how it goes.

You mention you just got these 3 in - do you have an existing flock? If so, these 3 newbies are being kept far away from the others in quarantine right?

It reminds me of what happens to one of our chickens (BB). No one listened when I was saying she was egg bound and by the time it they payed attention it had gotten so bad that her organs were literally being pushed out of her body. Had to put her to sleep because her skin literally started cracking open. It sucked. Treat her as soon a possible. It could already be to late.

Please Please Please treat Bertha. My BB acted as though she was fine but she most certainly was not. She can live like that but it will get worse. There will be diarrhea and literally the smell of death.
