No. Meat birds aren't kept to breed more meat birds, nor are they fed hormones for their weight gain. It's all genetics

You might check your sources, you can't always believe what you hear. Since the 1950's it has been illegal in the USA to give chickens growth hormones. Other animals might be different, but not chickens. They don't need growth hormones, they can achieve what they need by selective breeding.

Besides growth hormones are not practical. If they fed them growth hormones the hormones would be destroyed in the digestive track by the digestive juices. The only way growth hormones are effective is if they are injected. That is a lot or work for a little chicken though with cattle it might be effective. As it is without hormones they have to limit their feed or they will grow so big so fast that they fall over and die. If they grew any faster more would die.

@Kitchenella I don't know who is telling you this stuff but it just isn't so.
