Eat it or Throw it Away?

Cat doesn't much care for butter, dogs on the other hand, love it. Me, I ain't eatin nuttin after the animals, and No, I don't let them lick my face either- organ meats? When we butchered 2 weeks ago I kept a pot for those- cooked it up at the end of the day and the dogs very much enjoyed our butchering- me? eeeewwwwwww

nope no organ meat for me....

I have always wondered about cow liver tho.... how can something that filters the impurities out of the cows blood be healthy for you to eat?... I would think it would be loaded with toxins... but mom always said it was good for you so eat it... (I fed it to the dog)

I know tongue is not organ meat but I have eaten it... it was chewy

I would eat the butter. I have eaten the butter

I love fried chicken hearts... yummy yummy yummy.

I hate liver... brains are ewww, and I mean it EWWW, wouldn't touch it, wouldn't even look. kidneys, I dunno. bladders I would drink water out of.

I love well cooked liver.

Back when, my doc recommended I eat it a couple times a month to help with iron loss.

Now I don't have to, but I sure love a good slice of liver, breaded and fried with onions and bacon as a rare treat.

I agree. And if I ever get sick from smooshing my face in my cat's fur coat, then it was worth it.

I'd eat it. What is the worst that could happen? You are far less likely to get something from the cat than you are from another human. There are far fewer germs in the mouth of a cat than in the mouth of a human. If you ever get bitten by a human you will know what I mean. Nasty nasty infections.

Oh, we eat butter here. No margarine in the place. I subscribe to the notion, "Don't eat anything your great grandmother would not recognize as food". I don't know if great grandma had margarine or not, but we don't eat it anyway. I am old enough to remember when it came white in a container and you had to mix the yellow coloring into it. For some reason, that did it for me.

From a healthy animal, the liver can be rather good for you - an animal that hasn't been fed antibiotics, growth hormones, and one that hasn't been fattened up on corn or other un-natural diet.

I have gone through stages of cravings for liver, onion and bacon, the last time happened the day before my daughter was born, I was sitting in a restaurant at the time having contractions

I got a couple of hours sleep and went into full blown labor at 3am

I believe my body actually needed the liver with all the nutrients and extra iron.
