Speckled Sussexes have their own pens with Welsummer hens in there (so Welsummers will produce 1/2 hybrids if you want the Welsummers - I suppose I should breed the Wellies to the FBCMs, that would produce a neat bird, eh?)
Cuckoo Marans have been separated from everyone for 2 weeks now, but there are 2 Australorp hens and a Barred Rock in with them And this pain in the rear broody hen (they lay light brown eggs, so not too hard to separate; I know the coloration different
wink.png
They lay nice mahogany eggs and the broody hen flogs me LOL trying to hatch 'em out, but not yet deciding whether she wants too or not yet
hmm.png
Sheesh! I can pretty much tell them apart
big_smile.png
I still say there may be mixes as I know it takes up to a full month to fully make sure 100% that they will only produce pure CMs and they've only been separated 2 weeks

I'm waiting to whisk her off to some eggs I want to hatch!
Then I have... the Black Copper Marans; they're from Wade Jeanne and Bev Davis and are from 3-4 separate lines; we're trying to get another 1-2, maybe even 3 lines if I can save enough moolah!

Chances are pretty high you'll get pures. THe reason why I send extras is to increase the purity rate AND so I don't have to be sad while making omelets out of eggs that "COULD HAVE BEEN" chicks LOL

I finally broke my taboo of writing on eggs (to let you know what the egg is) but I'm still getting used to it. LOL I hate writing or handling eggs too much!

And then I have a bantam assortment of just mixed birds - we will be separating the Silkies pretty soon and trying to find my OEGB hens a rooster (...

he died).

My issue is I'm always testing how many eggs I can fit into a box.
The only issues I've had with are eggs that are packaged in those styrofoam boxes - I get 1-2 eggs broken, BUT it insulates the eggs to keep them from freezing (better 1-2 broken than frozen eggs, right?)

Darn person above (AussieHeelr) can only put 30 eggs in her 'bator! She's depriving me of sending extra eggs!!!! I hope you're ashamed up there! LOL Are you listening to me??!! I'll get you next time!!!!! *shakes fist* Magsrags deprived me of that ability too! *shakes fist again* What is up with people only wanting a certain amount of eggs HUH????? You're suppose to be able to hold 48 eggs in your 'bator!!!

As for duck eggs, I've been scouting around for people with ducks. Mainly to surprise people
wink.png
Wouldn't that be funny! "Christine sent me 30 eggs and one of them looks like a friggan' duck?!?!" I swear... it's a chick... LOL
wink.png
When I find someone with duck eggs and hatch 'em out myself to test fertility, beware LOL
wink.png
I know a man who raises pheasants and quails, but he hasn't started collecting eggs yet (no eggs) but I'll be expecting to send freebie eggs with my egg sales
smile.png
make people smile! I have yet to have anyone complain of extra eggs! I did know a few other people with turkeys, but they were wiped out this winter

I'm trying to get Mandarin ducks for next year... but what I really want are those Black Swans... O.O So keep your fingers crossed!

Ok, I am beyond just curious now. I'll bite, lol. How many would you be sending, so I know how much room to make? I have both my incubators up and running, but there is another auction I am bidding on, plus I'm getting some Golden Cuckoo Maran eggs soon, and some BLRW, Welsummers, and another breed. Total 24 eggs there. I will have a turner in BOTH my incubators shortly. Hatch rate has been 1 out of nearly 60 eggs in that incubator, so I splurged and bought the turner for that bator too. I'm curious to see what I would get. I really hope there would be FBCM's in the bunch as those are ones I am really interested in. I currently have a Silver Cuckoo Maran roo in with my BA, Americauana mixes, Sexlinks, and SLW's, and while fertility is high, my incubator keeps killing the eggs.

I feel that if I'm going to spend the money, I want the eggs to LIVE. I want lots of cute little fluffy butts to snuggle through the Spring.

I like the idea of the bantams too. I currently have Bantam cochins, bo's, one mille fleur hen, a silkie cross, and my white silkies. I have a small standard hen in with them cause she was rejected by the standards, and she is perfectly happy with the banties. She isn't really that much bigger than them anyway! So let me know what ya want to throw at me, and we'll go from there!

I would caution you about sending duck, pheasant or quail eggs without checking with the buyer first, since those different birds all take different incubation times. Plus they may not be set up to handle different types of birds.
