Shelly, Next year for meat why not just order good meat chicks and not handle them at all. I am in the city (well sort of) and my neigbours would run me out of town in a minute if I started trying to raise my own meat flock.
I think if I lived in the country and wanted meat birds I'd probably get one of the kinds of birds people on the meat bird forum rave about. And if you are like me, you need to decide how you will "do the deed" BEFORE you get the eggs/chicks because it can be hard to find someone who can/will do it for you.
