Eating Duck Eggs for breakfast-First time Eating Them!!!

I feel chickens should be raised for love and companionship too, but i still like their eggs. there is no baby in my chickens eggs cuz i dont have a roo. i have a drake but duck eggs are picked up within an hour of laying, NO VHANCE in a baby being there.

Mrs. BJ Hensley Jr. :

I WILL NEVER EAT DUCK EGGS! But thats just me. Unlike Chickens, I feel Ducks should be raised for love and companionship and not baby eting. lol. I guess for me it's fully psychological.

the 'after taste' isnt bad. duck eggs are really good, maybe even a little better than chicken eggs. chickens eggs have a little aftertaste too in my opinion

After eating oodles of delicious fresh chicken eggs from my backyard chickens, I discovered they were causing a flare up in my Meniere's disease, which causes vertigo.

So I'm REALLY hoping I am not allergic to duck eggs....I have 5 muscovy hens that are approaching five months old and three cayuga hens that are already five months. The males have been wanting to mate with them so I think they are going to lay eggs soon. Does anyone know when those breeds are supposed to start laying?

Please say a prayer for me that I will not be allergic to the new eggs, I really want to eat some myself. At this point I wouldn't care about any ol' aftertaste, I just want to eat eggs again. Does anyone know more about the allergy to chicken vs. duck eggs topic? I hope I'm not considered hitchiking, but I want to be able to eat my soon-to-be-layed duck eggs for breakfast, too!

Im not sure. all i know is i think im having ducky eggs for breakfast tomorrow!!

I've never heard of eggs causing a flare up of Meniere's! Were you able to eat the duck eggs? (And, btw, I also have Meniere's)

Unfortunately, no. Duck eggs effected me just about like chicken....I believe they trigger the vertigo for me because I'm allergic to them and as I understand it, allergies aggravates meniere's disease.

They were sure YUMMY though............one of my duck egg customers calls them "breakfast candy."

I have really enjoyed my Cayuga eggs for breakfast, and for lunch, and for dinner. I have a pair of Cayugas and the size of Thelma's eggs make a two-egg omelet or some scrambled eggs quite filling.

It's nice, because that means I can sell all my chicken eggs and just eat the duck eggs myself. (I like both, but since there doesn't appear to be anybody that buys my chicken eggs that also wants duck eggs, there's plenty for me.)
