What is the max refrig time before quail eggs should be eaten? I am getting an one egg a day and was wondering if I should get to cookin within a certain time frame. Thanks

I would assume they would be roughly the same as chicken eggs, kept at 49 degrees they should keep for weeks!

They are much smaller than chicken eggs, so they may float much faster.

About 3 weeks! Give or take.

diggerduck....you need some more hens! If you are getting 1 egg a day from 1 hen, if you have 85 hens, then you will be getting about 80 eggs a day.....just something to think about

Well, I know that as a boiled egg, I wouldn't even try them before they sat in the fridge for at least 3 weeks. Just too hard to peel until they've aged.

Frankly, I've got so many chicken, duck, and turkey eggs not bothering with quail eggs for human consumption. A couple of times, I put a whole bunch in the food processor shell and all, pulverized, then cooked for the chickens.

I have a wife that is trying her hardest to limit my quail addiction. I am picking up three more hens tomorrow, so that will be one boy to five girls. I hope that picks things up a bit. I am super new to this so kinda feeling my way thru this site to try and figure things out. I see it as a victory that I have had six birds for three weeks without killing a single one.

at one egg a day you could be waiting a minute for an omelet

I agree- more hens needed. recommend- go buy ms. diggerduck a massage at spa, when she returns- have new hens already in place...

WOW! thanks for sharing...

the cliff notes;

" [2] The very best way we've found to stash eggs away for long-term storage is in a sealed container at a temperature of 35° to 40°F. Their whites may become somewhat runny looking over a period of time, but even after seven months—the cackleberries stored in this manner smell good, taste good, have a good texture, and—in short—seem "almost fresh"."
