Eating Grass????

Here are some free plans for grazing frames. The link is to the thread and then there's a link to the site with the plans. I made one. Using the same idea but not the measurements. I've noticed that my chickens like what we call "Orchard Grass" the best. They munch it down to the ground and will leave the the lawn grass alone. I'm sure there is a different name for the grass. It's what my grandpa had growing in his orchards. It's very fast growing, grows kinda in a bunch(?), and is like a weed. Very tough stuff. I dug a bunch up and planted it underneath my grazing frames a week ago, clipped it all down so it would come up through the the hardware cloth and it's already grown a couple inches.

Just realized this is an old thread-Maybe my info will be useful anyways lol (for anyone interested in "ID'ing" the "orchard grass" I can get a picture if you'd like)

Well I'm interested and thanks for posting that link. I'm in the building stages of my run and am thinking of adding one of these.
