lol Well I saw this neat way to fence it in and they can only get at the tall pieces and not be in there to scratch and kill it. Thats why I asked.

I plan on digging up the really tall weeds that are groing in my garden and plant them in some planters with wire over it.

Just before I put this pic up I take no credit for this idea, this comes from arianna a Gold Feather Member that posted it on my enclosed run thread. Thought it was amazing and want to duplicate it. Hope she don't get mad for me taking this pic to share with yall.

I kind of wish I hadn't seen that during the planning stages of my coop and run. Now I have to remind myself to stay in budget!!

Seriously, that whole thing is awesome, including the grass boxes.

I am going to put the fencing down so they can eat it but not scratch it all out. I am hoping that this way it has a chance to grow all summer and it will come back in the spring and I can just fill in bald spots might even plant some in the back yard so when they free range I will keep it mowed but right now it is hard to get anything to grow in my back yard.

I had planned on pulling sod rolls from my yard to make some garden spots free of grasses, but I wasn't sure what to do with them. If chickens tend to kill the grass in the run, I will definitely plan on using my sod for this sort of thing.

I know my grass grows tall enough for it, I haven't been able to get my mower started yet this year ....

Thankyou for this post. I am going to try this stuff as well. I live in Arizona so we'll see how it does here!
