Eating Healthy

I'll play too! I started in January keeping a log of my food & water consumption. However, I've only lost 5 lbs so far 'cause I got off track for a few weeks. Oh, and I haven't figured out how to incorporate exercising either. Anywho...

Feb. 27:

Breakfast - 1 banana, a 12 oz can of Diet Dr Thunder

Lunch - 32 oz of sweet tea, salad [romain/ice burg lettuce mix w/carrots & red cabbage, cheese, bacon crumbles, pepperoni slices, cherry tomatos, banana pepper slices, black olives, a few homemade croutons, spicey ranch dressing (tbsp worth)], a taste of the broccoli-rice w/ beef soup to see if I liked it [answer was no], two pkgs of crackers, a bowl of mixed fruit [pineapple & mango], 3/4 cup red skin potato salad w/ dill.

Snack - 1 cup of lasagna, some sabrosita (sp) flavored chips & pieces of burnt pie crust..

Dinner - 1/4 piece of a whole quiche from a 9" pie pan, modified Quiche Lorrene recipe.

Very interesting thread. I lost 80lbs a few years ago. I'll post pics in a minute. The way I did it was a complete change in lifestyle. At first it was really hard, but once I made it a habit, it got easier, and I found that it was just a part of life.

I have depression (off my meds since Sept 07, yipee!), and one of the things the book said to do was get up, get out and do for others. So I started walking every morning before my kids woke up (DH was home). I was hard work at first. Then i started to notice what i put in my mouth. If I was working so hard at walking every morning, did I really want to eat that bag of chips?

Anyways, it took abourt 9-10 months, but it worked. Keeping it off also requires keeping that change in lifestyle. A book that really helped me, and I believe is very important in this weight journey "Love Hunger" by Dr. Frank Minirth, Dr. Paul Meier, Dr. Robert Hemfelt, & Dr. Sharon Sneed. This book is Christ based, but the principals apply to everyone. It is a comprehensive book about recovery from food addiction. When you are 5'2" and weigh 230lbs, that's food addiction. No one wants to hide under a michelan man suit. I was hiding behind my fat, but now I am free!

Great.
I find this thread the day AFTER I bake a 10-egg pound cake, made with real butter!
I took most of it to work to share with co-workers, though. Phew!

Breakfast: Nature Valley Crunchy Granola Bar, water.

Lunch: Cheeseburger (meat, cheese & bun only) Lay's baked chips (1/2 a bag), Lady Grey unsweetened ice tea to wash it down.

Snack this afternoon: Slice of pound cake, vitamin gumball.

Dinner will be: Pork, Fried corn, biscuits & spinach.

Dessert: scoop of Moose Tracks ice cream

Exercise: about 10 minutes mixed stretches & aerobics (hey, its a start).

Yep, Miss. I ate ALL that soup last night, I made sure I got it allllll down. I should've eaten my ice cream I wanted too, but oh well, too late.

No breakfast here, not a breakfast person.

But, for "brunch" at 11:45am I had -

Grilled chicken breast seasoned with lime, and lemon pepper.
Steamed brocoli with butter and lemon pepper.
Tomato and a cheese stick.
And half a glass of 100% all natural grape juice!
Gah, that sure sounds like alot once I've typed it down!

Snack at 4:00pm -
8 oz. glass of 2% milk and a chocolate cereal straw.

Lunch/dinner at 5:45pm -

One small baked potato with butter, sour cream, and onions.
Small plum.
100% natural grape juice.

Oh, and 6:30pm -
Half a cup of minestrone soup that was left.

2/28/2008

9:00am -

Cheese stick and a couple pods of pickled okra. 100% natural orange & grape juice mixed.

10:30am -

Cinnamon roll flavored oatmeal with a teaspoon of half and half creamer.

3:45pm -

6 chicken nuggets & small portion of fries w/ a coke.

Not eating anymore today after the last meal. My grandparents brought it to me, I couldn't refuse.

2 baby dills

Me too, me too!!

Breakfast:
single serving of Pringles
1 can diet cherry pepsi

snack:
single serving of Pringles

(ok, so I'm not really off to a good start here...)
