eBay eggs...0 development

Hi there! I bought 12 deathlayer eggs off EBay. The seller sent 17 which was Awesome! The eggs were well packed (but didn’t have a fragile or egg or no X-ray markings) and arrived intact except all the air cells moved and some eggs candled red instead of yellow. I let them sit 24 hours then put them in the incubator on 6/14. Today there is NO development in any eggs.

Would you contact the seller or chalk it up as a loss and find more?

I would contact the seller and (politely) suggest that you believe the packaging was inadequate and that the shipping service may have mishandled the eggs due to a lack of markings. They may be willing to send replacements but may also tell you it's the carrier's problem once the package is en route. It doesn't hurt to contact them about it; most sellers will be accommodating if they feel they might get negative feedback.

I'd let them know. You should have some development on something. Have you hatched before? While they are not obligated to replace them it's what a good seller would do.

talk with the seller. they will most likely send you more eggs, or refund you.

Yes I hatch a lot...even shipped eggs. I’ve just never had a batch with no development before.

If it’s any consolation... I’ve found deathlayer to be THE WORST to ship...

It could still be the sellers fault if nothing developed
But I had dL held up by the P.O. along with 6 BLRW. 2 BLRW hatched. No dL
7 dL shipped with 12 barnevelder and 6 bantam barnie, I got 2 barnevelder and 4 bantam. 0 dL.
I have 25 more dL set that were screwed up by the P.O. yet again (from Nc to pa they went to ga and sat for 24 hours- no idea why)... and 9 dL that had no shipping issues that I know of shipped with a doz isbar and doz bcm.

I candle the 25 tomorrow for day 5....
the 9 still a few days

Supposedly they’re just hard to hatch if shipped
